Advantages: so tiny, suitable for very small babies! Disadvantages: so gorgeous make me want to spend all my £!
I'm sorry, I'm sorry.... bear with me, another nappy review!
For all those clothies (and people planning to cloth) out there, this nappy is amazing!
It is the only nappy I have coma across that seems to sit really comfortably on a newborn!

A small nappy made from terry outer, with jersey (very soft - like t-shirt material) inner. The nappies I have, are nippa fastening, a t-shaped gripper (but thats another product altogether!) but from looking on the nature babies website, it appears they are now available in aplix (like velcro) and popper version! The nippa however is very versatile making it perfect for the strange size and shape a newborn baby boasts!
It is a shaped nappy with elasticated waist and leg cuffs to give a great snug fit, it is relatively thick and has good absorbancy for a newborn - may need to be boosted at the higher end of the weight range. It is also nice slim fitting (well as slim as you will get from cotton!)
It is available in several sizes: Size 1: designed for used from 5-15lbs (however can be folded down at the front to make smaller for prem and tiny babies and dependant on build may fit some babies up to the 18lb mark! Costs £4.99 per nappy! Size 2: designed for use from 13-35lbs, and as with most size 2 nippa nappies, can be folded at the front to use as a birth to potty nappy! Costs £5.99 per nappy!
Both are £5.99 in the aplix version!
Now........... new to the market........... MicroDiddy! this carries exactly the same design as the original diddy, however uses a new style fabric Microfibre terry, which is a lot faster drying (haven't actually tried one of these, but have heard microfibre nappies are a godsend to those with limited drying facilities!) these cost £6.25 size 1 and £7.25 size 2. They are nippa fastening and the sizes are the same as the original diddy's!
This nappy is a t-shape when laid flat, therefore being relatively narrow between the legs, however has very long "wings" which give great adjustability and sizing for such as small baby. These nappies are not waterproof, and therefore need to be used with an outer wrap, pul, fleece, plastic pants whatever you prefer - they are very slim so there aren't many limitations on covers!
When it comes to washing these nappies, it couldn't be easier, dry pail in a bucket (you can soak if you prefer but isn't neccessary!) and then chuck in machine when you have a full load, quick rinse to start, then wash at 60deg with a small amount of non-bio and no conditioner (as this ruins absorbancy) then they can either be line dried, or tumbled on hot! If you have trouble with stains, hang out in bright daylight (sunshine is best but not vital) or in front of a bright lit window (if you have no outside space) and the stains will gradually dissapear (avoid using harsh stain removers)
These nappies also, once outgrown can be used as boosters in size 2 nappies - however this is quite a bulky option.
Overall, these nappies are soft, slim, easy to use and care for, fit great from day 1 and a reasonably priced....give them a go if you're tempted to be a clothie - you won't be dissapointed!
Advantages: Good fit and value Disadvantages: No inner liner
I first brought the Diddy Diaper as a cheap addition to my nappy collection. Having mainly used all-in-ones and velco nappies I planned to use this on last resort needs! Well what a surprise as I now have quite a few and use it as a night nappy with a booster pad and a fleece cover.
The nappy is basically a t shape design made with terry towelling and a jersey (t-shirt feel) inner. It has no velcro and you will need a nappy nippa to ft it. The sides ... ...fit is achieved.
I always put a booster pad inside to hold a flushable liner and this makes it absorbent enough for night-time use ( I do have a little girl who is not a heavy wetter, so a boy may need more booster pads).
The nappy needs a wrap and I use either a nature baby plastic wrap or the tots bots fleece. Both work very well and I have never had a leak.
As the nappy has no plastic it can be tumble dried on hot (ideal for those oh god I've ...

Advantages: Reusable, easy to fit, absorbent and no leaks (especially not poo) Disadvantages: Needs fastener, eg nappy nippa / safety pin
This is a shaped nappy which fastens seperately underneath a waterproof wrap. Mine is unbleached cotton. It's very soft and fluffy.
The shaping is good; it's easy to make it fit different shapes of tummy (before and after a meal, for example) and it looks like it would fit a lot of different thigh sizes, too.
It has no "extra" padding inside, unlike some which have a foldable flap (you're supposed to fold them at the front for boys or the middle ... ...it as a night nappy, but my baby is very very wet at night.
To fasten, I just pull the tabs up over the middle and use a Nappy Nippa. I would prefer an Aplix / Velcro fastening, but it's not difficult to do. The lack of velcro means that it will last longer, since velcro tends to fill up with little bits of fluff after a lot of washing and then it won't stick any more.
It's less bulky than a prefold for under clothes - but it's less absorbent than ...
