**** The Game Itself **** Pipsy,Bumper, Tiptup, Timber, Conker, Krunch, and Banjo are the 8 main drivers. The sets of levels are Snowflake Mountain, Dino Domain, Shebet island, Dragon Forest and Future Fun Land. Each of these levels has four great races plus one multiplayer battle game. Every one of them different in some way. I won't go on and describe each and every level, but my personal favourite levels are "Spaceport Alpha", "Crescent Island", "Snowflake Mountain" and "Windmill Plains". You can often choose between cars, hovercraft and planes, cars being my favourite. As for weapons, you can get missiles, boosters, shields, droppers and magnets, all with different coloured balloons you pick up.
**** Graphics **** For it's time, amazing! Corners and edges were very smooth and sharp, even close up. Players looked fine, and some of the levels, like "Spacedust Alley" and "Whale Bay" are very atmospheric. When you fly planes, you can see a nice view of what's around in the area.
**** Playability **** The controls are easy to figure out. The characters you choose will vary with speed, strength, and more stats. I figured out how to play and use the controls before reading the user guide!
**** Sound **** The music is great in this game, my favourite music is the Spaceport Alpha level, it has a military style beat and a serious tone while still keeping in with the theme of the game. You may even find yourself humming the tunes if you've played it a lot. Sound is good too, you get various effect such as the characters' speech, laser blasts, explosions, crashes, homing missile beeps and much more.
**** How long? ***** You'll be hooked with this for quite a while, be warned! The multiplayer games, whether it's a blast other player games like Icicle Pyramid or collecting the bananas game like Smokey Castle are great to play with friends. Plus the game is so long, it takes ages to complete!
**** Value for money? **** Yes! Very much so. A great all round game. It's quite hard to find in the shops though so you'll have to look around in second hand shops or big stores to find it.
**** Misc! **** All I can say is that it's a very good racing game, better than Mario Kart in my opinion. The graphics, gameplay and the mad scrabble between the players to be 1st on the races are sure to get you hooked! Oh, and for those who think that the part of "Spaceport Alpha" where you go through an object filled coridoor with lasers blasting at you from all sides is a reference to Star Wars, you're right!
Advantages: Amazing Racing and Adventure Elements Disadvantages: No Apparant Faults
...different, you'd se different with Diddy Kong Racing. One that stands out in my mind especially is the mini-game where you have to collect eggs. Four players have 1 corner each and have to pilot there way to the middle in planes and collect an egg from the nest in the middle, when they've done this they have bring it back to their corner and return to collect another egg. It was really a 'party with mates' mini-game.
Now not only is the game as ... ...the game looks like a dream. The landscapes look amazing; it's a game that actually makes you feel cold when you're racing in a snowy course. There's not one time when you'll find a fault, it's amazing but the game seems perfect, until you actually see it, you won't believe it. Now the characters are where the game really shines. Advantages: Choice of vehicles. Clever one player mode. Excellent characters and tracks. Icicle pyramid. Disadvantages: Multiplayer racing not as addictive as Mario Kart
The ever continuing ‘Mario Kart or DKR’ debate can never be decided, but if you’re looking for an answer, then I have to say that DKR really is one of the best racing games around. The quality or ‘Rare’ games always is high, but in this the excelled themselves. Choose from one of 8 racing characters and either play a clever 1 player mode (better than MK), where you drive round an island and ‘find’ the tracks ... ...Taj, a genie elephant, or TT an extremely annoying small clock. Here’s the gem though, you get a choice of 3 vehicles: A car, a hovercraft, or a plane!! Pure genius, which really gives this game an edge.
There are 16 tracks in all, split up into 4 ‘areas’ with 4 tracks in each. In each area you must win each of 4 the tracks once to gain magic balloons and then win a race with a ‘boss’ character. Examples of this being ...

Although this game is about three years old, it is still one of the best games I have played-and I have played a lot of games! I bought it when I first goy my Nintendo 64, which I recently sold for the money to get a PS2. Anyway, it was the first game I had on the N64 and it is definitely somewhere in my top 5 list of N64 games. In the game, there are 8 main characters, but you can unlock two other secret characters. The plot of the game is that ... ...be the frog!) You must go to all four worlds, which are 1. Dino Domain 2.Snowflake Mountain 3.Sherbert Island 4.Dragon Forest. You must have a certain amount of balloons to get into each level in each world. You can get these balloons from winning races and finding them lying around in the outside land. When you have completed all races in a world by coming in first place, you must play the boss, beat it, then play the races again. But this time ...

Although Diddy and his other friends have starred in games before they have not yet been united in a racing game. So Nintendo and Rare decided to create a new style of racing game, whereas it lacks the incredible speed of F-Zero and the drive of Mario kart, Diddy Kong racing is ideal for a good laugh.
The game starts with two different modes these allow you to either play in the actual adventure game or to just play on the tracks that you have completed ... ...amount of options inside the game can seem sometimes even limitless. If you choose to enter the adventure mode you will soon find that the island you have to explore contains hidden places and extra surprises for you to stumble over. There are also four different worlds, each with it’s own different theme, that you have to pit your wits against. In my opinion, this is the best karting game there is, even better than the original which started the whole craze, Mario Kart on the SNES. It is FAR better than Mario kart 64. There are many gameplay modes, which are all excellent. There is the adventure, which I still haven't completed, this is a cross between a platform game and a karting game, as you have to win each track to get more golden baloons to be able to get more tracks unlocked. Then ... ...world, you have to beat the baddie in a race with just you and him, who lives on that island. This is so addictive, it's unbelievable! It took me hours to finally defat the first baddie! Then you get to race all the tracks again, but this time there are 10 coins on each track which you have to find and collect. The you have to beat the baddie again, and then you have to find a hidden key. There is also a simple arcade mode if you just want a quick ...

This game is similar in style to Mario kart and DiddyKongRacing on the N64. the only difference is that it envolves all the charcthers from that amazing cartoon The Wacky Races by warner brothers. The Graphics are absolutley spot on so good that i could even say that they are better than the actual cartoon. all the charathers from the cartoon are involved and they all have there own special weapons that are suited to their character. there are also some hidden characthers. There are 20+ race tracks and five different game mode so i can see it having a good life span. the game is four player multiplayer and also is steering wheel compatable. i would sincerley recommend this game to anyone of all ages and abilities! ...

The Nintendo has brought its fans many things, but never yet has it brought us Disney classic. Well things change, as Nintendo has created yet another superb racer. Finally, DiddyKongracing and Mario Kart have some serious competition for top N64 cutesy racer.
One thing that was lacked in Mario Kart and DiddyKongracing was the challenge, well Rare have obviously spotted this and have made Mickey’s speedway a more challenging title. Your aim is to race across 20 of America’s top destinations and stop the weasels taking Mickeys dog and his diamond collar. Some dogs are so lucky.
