I got a bottle of Diesel Fuel for Life for Christmas, to be completely honest I actually disliked the perfume as soon as I unwrapped it because the box which it was packaged inside was brown dull and boring. The box reminded me of a parcel which was wrapped up in brown paper and tied with brown string. The box looked exactly like a parcel because it even had a little tag printed onto it which also resembled an address label. It's quite funny because I'm put off a lot of perfumes simply because their boxes are badly designed and dull.
The bottle looks a lot better than the box which it is supplied in, the bottle is a fairly round chunky one which has a plain gold metallic lid on top. I actually think that the bottle looks rather strange because it is covered in a beige crotchet style wrap. The crotchet wrap looks like a jumper, I think that it looks very strange; I know its winter and its cold, but there's no need to put a jumper on a perfume bottle.
Behind the crotchet style jumper which the scent is wearing, there is fairly large gold lettering which says "Diesel Fuel for Life. Use with Caution." This statement on the bottle was another thing which struck me as being rather odd! The bottles wearing a jumper now we are being told to be cautious when using it! Very Strange indeed!
Now we get onto the scent of the actual perfume, Is this any better than the odd warning and Jumper? Or is the Jumper concealing a horrible scent? Well the jumper is hiding a horrible, overpowering aroma. When I tested the scent I only applied one spray to my wrist, and immediately the scent was almost too intoxicating and overpowering. It had a really spicy almost peppery aroma which caught in the back of my throat and made me cough. This spiciness was accompanied with a really heavy floral note which smelled really powdery.
The scent remained the same for about an hour and then it eventually died down a little, but not very much. The spiciness had faded somewhat and the fragrance had a musky fruity note which I associated with blackcurrants and musk. The scent of the blackcurrants died down the powdery floral and spicy notes and the addition of the musk lifted the scent therefore changing it to a fruity musky scent.
The fragrance does have really good staying power and lasts for about 5 hours; after about four hours the scent almost fades completely and all you can smell is a subtle hint of sweet muskiness for the last hour.
The fragrance is described as having
Top Notes of Mandarin and Pink Pepper, although I thought that it smelled more like chilli powder and black pepper rather than pink pepper The top notes are the first phase of the perfume; they are usually the most volatile and evaporate from the skin very quickly. The top notes are usually very light and refreshing and their scent usually lasts for anything between five and ninety minutes
Middle Notes Of Blackcurrant and Jasmine The middle notes of a scent are therapeutic and balancing oils, sometimes the middle notes are often referred to as the heart notes of a scent. The middle notes are not always evident and can take between thirty and sixty minutes to develop on your skin, and they last for anything between two to four hours.
Base Notes Of Patchouli and Musk The base notes are the longest lasting notes in a fragrance, most perfumes use the same base notes. This is because they give the perfume more staying power and stop the top and middle notes from evaporating from your skin as quickly.
As you can tell from my review, I really dislike this scent because it's far too strong and spicy. I prefer a more delicate, fresh, fruity perfume which doesn't have an intoxicating overpowering aroma. I think that this perfume smells like a really old fashioned perfume, probably most suited to those who prefer a more mature fragrance. But this is my own personal opinion of the scent and others may find it to be a scent which they like.
The statement on the front of the bottle is 100% true "use with caution" it's a warning telling you only to use a tiny amount of the scent because it is extremely strong, fiery, peppery and intoxicating. I think the front of the bottle should have a bio hazard sticker on it.

Advantages: nice packaging Disadvantages: fragrance generally low quality with poor staying power
...has an excellent image, which Diesel has relied on heavily this Christmas. This, in conjunction with vintage trends, means that the future of this scent is promising, as the elasticky lace around the bottle lends the fragrance's image a simultaneously girly, punky and timeless appeal.

The clever marketing of the fragrance sets the wearer up for a positive ... ...scent is not unpleasant, but it is forgettable, and it becomes clear quickly that style has prevailed over substance. There is a hint of sweetness and citrusy notes, but the scent is not especially individual and neither of these qualities really come through incredibly clearly. Perhaps crucially, there is little to distinguish the scent from its competitors once you get past the pretty packaging, which seems a shame.

The giftset came in a very nice box. It had an old cardboard effect which was original. The box was a nice average size and definitely a great gift for someone. The gift box contained a 30ml bottle of diesel perfume, a 50ml tube of shower gel and ... ...in a white tube with diesel fuel for life in gold. It looks very pretty. It is a great shower gel but, it doesn't really smell much like the perfume which is a disappointment and it only smells a little like the perfume. The body lotion looks exactly like the shower gel. It doesn't really smell at all like the perfume it smells like normal body lotion. I suppose there is a slight hint of diesel fuel for life and it could be improved. After applying ...

Diesel: Fuel for Life for women was released just before christmas and is the newer scent the same fragrance.
Its a mature smell but suitable for younger too. It smells really expensive (and it is!) It mix's elegant with a young trendy twist- class with style =D
Not something that you would expect to wear all day but if you did its not out of place. (My girlfriend wears it ALL the time!)
The bottle in shape is quite bland with a golden top. You ... ...Over the top of the bottle is a unque net like mesh thats patterned- this strangley works really well! I have taken the netting off and the bottle looks terrible! Also attached to the bottle is a small pendant which adds to the class and style. I brought a bottle for my girlfriend just before xmas and it cost me about £35 for 50ml. There are also bottles of 25ml and 75ml too though.
By the way my girlfriend loves it and has managed to spray half ...

At first, the adverts on TV got my attention for this perfume. I loved the tagline; use with caution. It's definitely true! This perfume is one of the best smelling perfumes I have ever come across and it is also one of the best presented. So I made my boyfriend get it for me for my birthday =)
The smell is definitely the first thing you notice (as it should be) but the presentation doesn't let it down either. The bottle (femme) comes wrapped in ... ...to the perfume as a whole. The mens bottle also has its own leather pouch with a zip - more manly! The box design is like a parcel wrapped in brown paper, it really feels personal and special.
The smell of this perfume is unlike any other. It's floral and sweet, but incredibly seductive and sexy - a well concocted mixture of blackcurrent, patchouli and jasmine. It lingers on clothes for a good few days, and still smells great. It's good to use on ...
