What is Diet Chef?
Diet Chef is an online service that prepares all your healthy weight loss meals for you and sends them to you via courier. You are then meant to heat the food up in a microwave or pot on the stove. The pack consists of a breakfast, porridge or granola, soup or a shake for lunch and then a meal for dinner. They also provide you with one healthy snack a day if you 'should feel peckish'.
How to order your hamper
www.dietchef.co.uk is their website which you order your hamper from. The website is quite easy to use and there are lots of reviews from papers and magazines saying just how fab the hamper is. I feel the the sort of reviews from the papers etc really encouraged me to buy the hamper. When you order your hamper you have to chose if you are a lady or a man as men need more calories and need a bigger hamper. Once you have chosen your sex you then choose how many of each item you would like! Simple as that! I found the ordering process very easy and quite quick.
The food!
There was a lot of variety to choose from which i found quite good as you could have a different meal every day of the week.
The breakfasts: i tried a mixture of the porridge and granola which were all very nice. I chose the cocoa nib porridge which is just like regular porridge but it had little bits of chocolate in it which was a nice treat. Also the original granola which was plain but quite nutty, the pink apple and cinnamon granola which had little bits of dried apple in it and the cinnamon wasn't too overpowering, which suited me. I also tried the treacle and pecan granola, i did enjoy this one i just didn't think it tasted very much like treacle! The last breakfast i had was the chocolate granola which i did not like at all. It didn't taste like chocolate just horrid granola!! I enjoyed most of the granolas but they had a variety of seeds(pumpkin, sunflower, etc) in them which i didn't really like so i just pulled them out!
The Lunches: You can choose between soups or shakes for your lunch and again i chose a variety of them. The shakes that i chose were chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. They were very thick and creamy and were best when they were cooled in the fridge. The chocolate one was quite rich and the strawberry one was quite fruity. The vanilla just had a very strange taste and didn't taste of vanilla at all. The soups were quite nice, i tried the pea and ham one and it was very tasty, it was quite salty but i liked that! The minestrone soup was delicious and very warming, the chorizo and bean soup was also very nice. It was very very thick and was more along the lines of a stew, but it was very hearty and filling which i loved.
The dinners: To sum it up they were horrid! They were thin and watery with hardly any meat in them at alland they lacked flavour. I tried beef meatballs, chicken casserole, chicken curry, chicken tikka masala and thai chicken curry among a few. And they were all disgusting. I didn't like any of the dinners and once i had a forkfull of each one i just put it straight in the bin! Which was a waste i know but they really were horrid.
The cost
I purchased the 14 day hamper which cost me £95 plus £4.95 p&p. So it is quite expensive. I think it is too much to pay for such a terrible hamper!
overall Opinion
The hamper is very expensive and it is not very good. I have no problems paying extra for quality but this was just a terrible experience and i would advise everyone if you were thinking about it not to bother. it is so much easier just to batch cooker healthy food at home and freeze it than to buy this. It works out much cheaper to buy your own food and so much tastier too!
Advantages: Good food, easy to cook Disadvantages: Dangerously low calorie intake, doesn't work!
...and tired the weight watchers diet again- but wasn't losing anything- I then saw the 'Diet Chef' diet- recommended in the daily mail, it sounded so easy & reasonable I thought I would try it.
The way it works & What you get for your money
You can order online or over the phone- either a week's worth of food- or a month's worth.
They advertise a full instant money back guarantee if you are not happy, so I thought it was worth a try…
I ordered ... ...day wasn't really enough.
The diet is based on calorie intake- and is advertised as 'We all know how hard it is to diet but imagine how easy it would be if you had your own personal chef who planned your meals, measured out the portions and did all the cooking for you. Well now you can! Diet Chef is the easiest way to lose a stone in only four weeks while enjoying delicious, chef-prepared ready meals.'
Here are the facts!
It costs about £7 per ...

Advantages: Easy - it's all done for you plus great supportive forum Disadvantages: vegetarian meal choices are limited at the moment
I started on diet chef almost 5 weeks ago and so far I have lost 13 pounds - I have another 2.5 stones to go. I cannot believe how easy it has been so far!
The food is delicious - and being low GI it keeps you feeling full up for a long time - it es easily prepared in the microwave and needs no refrigeration. What I have found particularly helpful is the online forum - full of supportive members - it's like one big club of people all chasing the ... ...at your own risk) Diet chef are very easy to contact by phone (no waiting in a queue) and they will tell you exactly what day your hamper will arrive.
The time between ordering online and delivery was 2 days. I only have positive things to say - I have NOT had any symptoms of dizzy spells/headaches. certainly if your normal diet is high sugar/high caffeine then switching to diet chef could cause headaches - this is caffeine withdrawl rather than ...

I ordered 5weeks worth of food from DietChef and over a week later i am still waiting for the hamper to arrive, even though they took the money out of my account the day i ordered. I have tried emailing them but have had no replies, when i call they say that there is nobody to take my call and then hang up on me and when i leave a message nobody phones me back. On thier website they boast phonelines that are open from 7.30am to 11pm yet i called ... ...call centre had closed.
The customer service team is rude and poorly managed and it is impossible to get through to anybody who has authority to deal with problems. I asked to speak to a manager and even she said "all i can do is take credit card payment, im not authorised to enter your account".
I think this is a complete con and i would highly recommend against taking the risk with this company. ...

Quick review of Diet Chef Hamper
I've been on this diet for two weeks now and have already seen a visible difference in my figure (I don't tend to weigh myself). The website tells you when to expect your hamper depending on when you order, the food comes with a booklet telling you how to top up their meals with fresh fruit and veg so you get your 5 a day and enough calories and the food's yummy. I've found that as long as I spread my meals out and 'my' snack is something low cal but filling I never get hungry through the day. I wish I was rich enough to live on this, the convenience is something I'm getting used to far too quickly! ...

Quick review of Diet Chef Hamper
I have to say that this is not my opinion of dietchef.
It clearly states in the instructions that you need to add 2 pieces of fruit, milk and vegetables to the food they provide.
I would highly recommend this and have lost 2 stones on the diet - like everything you should read everything before ordering.
If i went into tesco and asked for a refund of food that i had eaten I am sure they would kick me out - sounds like you were lucky with dietchef
Highly recommended for people willing to read the website and information supplied ...
