Advantages training digimon, quite fun to play and suitable for any ages.

Disadvantages no storyline and cant really control the battles.

Published and developed by Bandai, Digimon World is the latest attempt by a company to cash in on the success and popularity of the monster and virtual pet phenomenon that has took over kids minds and made them think they really do have to catch them all.

Digimon World is in particular aimed towards the raising and the nurturing of these creatures rather than training and collecting like other games like pokemon have learned. All the way throughout the game the player has to keep an eye on there digimon and do everyday things like you would do with your own pet, like feeding it, telling it to go to bed, making it go potty (toilet) and training it to become strong. Each digimon you receive has to be well looked after and treated properly for it to even have a chance of evolving. Its very important to praise your digimon when he/she is good and when its bad you have to punish it.

Digimon World (PlayStation)
In addition to the everyday running and training of your digimon there are also battles you must go look for all over Digimon World. While there is quite a lot of options for training your digimon there isn't that much to do when your in battles other than sit back and watch and throw items in to aid your digimon. However you can tell your digimon to do his special attack when his special bar has filled up. Most of the time the battles will make the player think your actually a spectator rather than playing the game completely but if you get your pets brain knowledge higher then he will learn more controls for when your in battle so it makes it less boring.

Overall the games graphics really ain't as bad as they may seem. While the textures and looks of the characters look a little shallow and rushed the backgrounds however are really vibrant colors. All this work and effort doesn't make you suggest that its not a ps1 game because it is and it really does deserve to be.

The sounds from the game can be either really cute with the sounds of the digimon doing there everyday things. The music and other sound effects seem ok but not to the best standards.

Digimon is quite addictive when your training your Digimon up because there are quite a few possibilities on the way your Digimon can turn out and evolve.

You are sucked into Digimon World and your goal is to rebuild the digimon city by going around to new locations and finding them then doing side quests to get them to rejoin the city or by beating them in battles. There is no main story to this game which also makes the game worth playing as you can basically go anywhere and do as you please. There are new shops that will open in the city when you find and recruit the right digimon. You will walk round places like woods, cemetery's and deserts in search of digimon. There are all kinds of items you can pick up all ranging from Digimon cards, wild mushrooms, hp chips, mp chips, sm recovery's and many more. Plus there are a range of bosses that need to be beaten.

Digimon World is classed as a kids game but i feel in my own opinion that any age can play this and have fun. Its a really cute and adorable game with bags of talent and i recommend it to anyone.
