Wonderful Nikon D80
Review of Nikon D80 by wilkinsgraham

Advantages: Takes most Nikon lenses, good controls, great picture quality.
Disadvantages: None really

...little biased. Ownership of several Nikon lenses decided the choice, and I wasn't disappointed. It's easy to use or can be customised to suit exactly what you want. Great results, and the built in flash isn't bad either. Does everything that I need and a whole lot more besides. If you've ever owned one of the AF film Nikons, most of the controls should be fairly instinctive. I added the 17 - 80 AFS lens, which I use most of the time. The standard ... Read review

D40x
Review of Nikon D40x by xtr.eme

Advantages: Excellent image quality and build
Disadvantages: Average value for money, limited choice of lenses

...motor, the camera only takes Nikon AF-S lenses, which have a motor built in. The standard lens is an excellent starting point, but if you want to expand your collection a sensible choice would be the Nikon AF-S 55-200 VR lens, which will allow you to zoom in more on your subject. The 10MP sensor coupled with a high quality lens ensures great photo quality. The camera offers 10 modes. A beginner should start with the Auto mode, where the camera decides ...
...are several creative modes, which largely change how the image is processed. Then come the manual modes, which offer enthusiasts more control. The D40x is an excellent option for first time DSLR buyers who want a camera that will grow as they grow as photographers. I would highly reccomend it, but if you cannot afford it would also reccomend the D40, a similar camera. ... Read review

Nikon D200
Review of Nikon D200 by liz_cloud9

Advantages: Short Cut Menus
Disadvantages: A little small for larger hands

...the imaging capabilities of the Nikon beats the S2 outright as its a 6 mega pixel camera verus 10 mega pixel. There are short-cut functions in the top of the body such as ISO and white balance settings so there is no need to search through the menus to find these. Initially this camera may seem daunting due to the vastness of the menus, but some guidance from the well written instruction booklet and the Nikon website the camera can be easily set ...
...this camera a little small to grip on its own, but with the base grip accessory this makes for a good size to hold and looks more like a professional body. Overall I am thoroughly please with my purchase and can rely on this is in rain or shine to get the images I require! ... Read review

Nikon D80
Review of Nikon D80 by AndrewPo

Advantages: small and light
Disadvantages: none

...compact compared to some earlier Nikon film cameras although not as small as the less expensive D40, D50 and D60 models. It fits nicely in the hand despite being small (I actually prefer cameras to be bigger than this, but I am probably quite old fashioned and in a minority) and all of the important functions are easily accessible even while looking through the view-finder. In fact the main functions are in exactly the same place they have always ...
...professional cameras such as the Nikon D3. As for the photographic results, I certainly can't complain. The metering and focusing are excellent and colours appear very vibrant and images very sharp. Overall this is a very good mid-priced DSLR sitting between the inexpensive new D60 and the more expensive "prosumer" D300, in terms of price, functionality and robustness. It is a widely available product and very popular. The built-in auto-focus motor ... Read review

Nikon D40X + 18-55mm lens
Review of Nikon D40x by BTreyo

Advantages: Addional Lenses that are available.
Disadvantages: Yet to discover

...Quidco * £40 off from Nikon The camera came with an 18-55mm lens& has many lens which are available compared to the Nikon D40 and not far off as far as functionality is concerned from the D80 - my uncle has D80 and was teaching me how to use mine and he was quite impressed. I still need to learn lots about the functionality but will post more when I know more. Meanwhile I know I got a great deal on the camera itself not to mention the product itself ... Read review
