Brilliant camera - VALUE for money.
Review of Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd by
jch1990
Advantages: Cheap, light, superb zoom function, acts as a video camera, strong
Disadvantages: Few upgrades
I received this wonderful camera as a gift for Christmas in 2006. The camera has unleashed a passion within myself for photography - that's how much i like it.
The lightweight body and ease of use present me with little need to buy a smaller compact digital camera. The photos that are produced from the camera are professional quality, and one of mine has even made it onto a motor-journalist website when i was just 16 at the time.
The only problem ...

Great camera if you can't afford an SLR
Review of Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 by
pkirmond
Advantages: Zoom! Picture quality, ease of use, size.
Disadvantages: Can't think of any
...Along came Panasonic with the FZ7 at a price I can afford and no looking back. I can't afford a digital SLR but this is the next best thing. The lens is fantastic and the stabilisation works really well. i have noticed slight purple fringing at high zoom and some noise at high ISO settings but not really apparent unless you know what it is in the first place! Picture quality is excellent. Menus are intuitive and easy to find your way around. Battery ...

Review of Nikon Coolpix S10 by

After looking around on the Internet, I finally decided that I was going to give this camera a try, because of the new features it seemed to have, and plus because the design really attracted me to it. The camera itself was £180, something that hurt the bank bad, but was ...

Great zoom camera for the money!
Review of Kodak EASYSHARE DX6490 by
Skaap
Advantages: The zoom lens and easy to use functions
Disadvantages: Low light not great, reload speed too slow
If you're not looking to spend a small fortune on a good camera, then this is an excellent choice. 4MP gives an excellent quality for amateur use and the 10x optical zoom on this camera is amazing. The digital zoom gives a poor picture and bad focus, but you shouldn't really need to use it, the optical zoom is more than enough for most pictures. In low light, the picture is not great, but there is quite a good built in flash, and a bigger one available ... ...would buy that. The size of the camera is bigger than your average little, fits-in-my-pocket digital camera, but I quite like the bulky feel, and the lens is really worth it. The size also means that the LCD screen is large enough to get a great idea of your picture before snapping! I'm using the standard battery that came with the camera and while on holiday I can use it for an entire day, sometimes two, and I am very trigger happy on holidays! ...

A great camera with potential
Review of Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 by
slinky_crazy
Advantages: Compact, durable, high quality images, good size, easy to navigate
Disadvantages: images may appear pixilated when taken in high sensitivity mode
...then i would recommend the panasonic lumix range. I purchased this camera at Christmas 2006 and I've found it does everything I wanted it to and more. The screen is a good size, though with the high sensitive images mode on pictures appear sharper than they may actually be, and it's a pocketable, or at least baggable, size itself. The battery life is very good and the charger is compact, lightweight and easily replaceable online (unfortunately i ...
