Living with the DMC-TZ2 at your side
Review of Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ2EB-K by geneset

Advantages: Nearly everything and more in compact
Disadvantages: No optical viewfinder and manual focussing

...cheek by jowell with the Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ2 for about eight months now. It lives in a pouch on my trouser belt and never leaves my side. As an ex-freelance photographer for the British press, I always carry a camera, and this little beauty has never let me down. In fact, I can take it out of its pouch, switch it on and be ready for action in less than ten seconds. In my press days, we used to carry three 35mm camera bodies with a wide-angle ...
...optics and build quality and Panasonic provide the electronics. A combination made in heaven? Try it and see. There are lots and lots of settings that are possible to make and other reviews go into great detail. I will stress one particular feature that never occurred in conventional cameras but is vital here....colour balance. You need to set this for the prevailing light conditions particular the type of light source. The daylight setting is easy ... Read review

Fuji 6500FD review
Review of Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd by tj040

Advantages: Pro settings and great pictures
Disadvantages: not able to change lenses.

I purchased this camera with my limited budget expecting nothing more than compact digital camera but I was soon supprised at what this camera offers. It has a lot of settings and functions you would only find on more expensive DSLR cameras. Although this camera is not a DSLR when your using it you would not know this. I have produced some amazing shots which have scored well on professional web sites. You can see some examples on tj040.shutterpoint.com. ... Read review

The P850, a SLR on a budget.
Review of Kodak EasyShare P850 by parkid

Advantages: Soooo many options and features.
Disadvantages: Big, not great fr a quick shot.

With a £110 discount how could I not get this beauty. It was the first and only camera I wanted when I went in the shop. The 12x zoom is sooo useful you are able to get great detailed pictures without having to use that revolting digital zoom. Close-ups are also a great thing with this camera, the auto focus and exposure are very cleaver and I am happy to leave it on auto for every picture. However, even with such a great auto feature how on earth ...
...avaliable??? It's perfect for me as you could describe it as a simple and cheep SLR camera because of how much you can adjust. I would recomend this to any photo lover, but be warned its not all that great with quick point and shoot shots. It is very big and not to pratical in that way. ... Read review

Good for beginners, not for the advanced user
Review of Kodak EasyShare Z612 by rjw01

Advantages: Picture quality, zoom, build quality
Disadvantages: 'Rough edges', unusual button layout

...A great camera for a first or second time purchase, but it has none of the finesse of a Nikon or Sony, particularly in design and sound recordings. I think this is the kind of camera which once Kodak resolves the minor gripes a future model could be excellent. ... Read review

Great zoom camera for the money!
Review of Kodak EasyShare DX 6490 by Skaap

Advantages: The zoom lens and easy to use functions
Disadvantages: Low light not great, reload speed too slow

If you're not looking to spend a small fortune on a good camera, then this is an excellent choice. 4MP gives an excellent quality for amateur use and the 10x optical zoom on this camera is amazing. The digital zoom gives a poor picture and bad focus, but you shouldn't really need to use it, the optical zoom is more than enough for most pictures. In low light, the picture is not great, but there is quite a good built in flash, and a bigger one available ...
...would buy that. The size of the camera is bigger than your average little, fits-in-my-pocket digital camera, but I quite like the bulky feel, and the lens is really worth it. The size also means that the LCD screen is large enough to get a great idea of your picture before snapping! I'm using the standard battery that came with the camera and while on holiday I can use it for an entire day, sometimes two, and I am very trigger happy on holidays! ... Read review
