Tiny camera, huge possibilities
Review of Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500EB-K by thebigc1690

Advantages: Wide angle shooting, many manual features and a large screen.
Disadvantages: The flash, the video capture and the price.

...only found on DSLR`s. Panasonic have been producing the Lumix range for some time now and they are becoming a very popular point and shoot camera and just about the only one on the market that can compete with Sony`s Cybershot range. This particular Lumix is one of the very few point and shoot digital cameras that can shoot it wide angle mode and whilst it is of course nowhere near as effective as a DSLR with a wide angle lens it is a great little ...
...person in the image. Panasonic have made Lumix versions before with this 25mm wide angle possibility but with the addition of the 5x optical zoom on this model you also have a longer reach at the telephoto end. Now again with the zoom on the camera you will not be able to re-create the types of images us pro`s get from our huge telephoto lenses but you will be able to get up close and personal with many shots without having to actually get up close ... Non worry camera!!
Review of Olympus µ[MJU:] 790 SW by spartans21

Advantages: hard wearing durable - will go anywhere
Disadvantages: have to charge the battery out of the camera as standard

This camera is a fantastic item for those of you who wnat a really hardwearing durable camera that you are not constantly worrying about - this one lies in puddles of beer at rugby parties and gets thrown about at the beach. It has even been put in a pint!! The pictures we have taken when we read the instructions and worked out the settings have been great. The flash is a little bright and gives a little red eye, but the sw that comes with it removes ...
...own" but the lifetime seems great so far and you do get a warning in the corner keeping you up to date. There was no card in the box but there is a small memory in the cmaera itself - you can always get a deal or find a card on the web. I have an SL-r camera and have owned a small Canon in the past but for a handbag size camera or a great holiday one - this is ideal - both on the picture quality, ease of use and the battery life. Also no need to ... Read review

My Sony Cyber-shot
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W17 by aleckjohnston

Advantages: Sleek Black with included picture package
Disadvantages: Needs large memory stick - due to high quality

>. My Sony Cyber-shot .< When purchasing a new digital camera, it is very hard to see to choose which one to buy as there are so many on the market, and now all the prices are being driven town. As background information I purchased my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W17 from www.amazon.co.uk for £202 - and those who have used amazon will truly know that the service provided is second to none. I shall start with the general technical jargon about the camera. ...
...The display on the Sony Cyber-shot is LCD and will not let you down with its 115,000 pixels. It is TFT active matrix, which i have not worked out yet and comes in with a reasonalbe size of 2.5" and is fully in colour. >. Other 'Goodies' .< All the cables are included for powering and charging aswell as the USB connector for your PC. It will work on Apple systems as well as microsoft and it comes with all the relevant drivers and utilities. You ... Read review

Probably the best compact camera out there!
Review of Canon PowerShot S70 by anneg1

Advantages: resolution, picture quality, price, RAW mode
Disadvantages: weight- this camera is heavy, large file sizes mean that you need a larger memory card.

I already own a Canon Digital SLR and was on the look out for another camera to carry around with me, as it's not possible to take 3 lenses everywhere that you go! The reason that I chose this camera was simply because it seemed to offer a lot more than the other compacts on the market for its size. Its price has also fallen dramatically over the last year, probably because of the release of a lot of new models. You can now get this camera on the ...
...that lasts longer than a Canon battery and that's the Sony Cybershot. You'll get about 150 shots out of the S70's battery, more if you turn the LCD display off and use the viewfinder. Weight: The camera is bulky and quite a bit heavier than other compacts. It'll still fit in your pocket, but it's not as tiny as it could be. And it's durable. Mine's been thrown around quite a bit and no signs of wear. Memory: It takes Compact Flash Memory cards ... Read review

Casio Camera
Review of Casio Exilim EX-S770 by emmag32

Advantages: Great little camera
Disadvantages: That you have to buy a case separately

...and again easy to use. I truly cannot find fault, even when having to return the camera due to a faulty battery. Casio were great, I posted it on a Monday; the battery had been replaced and the camera was returned to me by the Wednesday of the same week. ... Read review
