Lumix LZ7 - Great First Digital Camera
Review of Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ7 by
jenniferfh
Advantages: Easy to use once set up; great instruction manual
Disadvantages: slightly pricey
I had difficulty in tracking down the Black version of this camera, but eventually managed via a private seller. However Amazon UK have them now.
This is a great camera with many many features that even the more advanced photographer can make use of.
Compact and light, the controls are fairly standard to most conventional digicams other than the slim versions on the market now.
Firstly I recommend that anyone buying this camera sets up the White ... ...camera at a white piece of paper. This setting gives improved hues to your pictures. Mine had a green/blue tint until I set this.
One of the good features for me is that the camera uses standard or rechargeable AA batteries.
The Optical zoom at 6X is longer than most and it is possible to increase this digitally to a massive 24X!!
The included internal memory at 27mb can only take 7 pictures at full quality so an SD card is very necessary from ...

All weather Camera
Review of Olympus µ[MJU:] 750 by
judepaw
Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: A bit pricey
T he Olympus Mju 750 is an all weather compact camera for well exposed images day or night in all conditions. It is available in Silver or Black with a 7.1 mega pixel resolution, plus a 5x optical zoom.
The camera has the following features
7.1 million pixels
5x Optical Zoom 5.6 Digital Zoom
Large 2.5 LCD Screen
Weather proof metal body
Dual Image Stabilisation
Bright Capture Technology
23 Scene modes
Xd- Picture card slot Supplied with ... ...( 36-180mm) A longer zoom means the camera is liable to camera shake, thus blurring the images. This is avoided by dual image stabilisation to prevent this from happening.
Photos are stored on the 17MB internal memory, which only allows just five snaps. So an xd- picture card is a necessity.
The camera weighs 120g and has a tapered curve to the body, it narrows down to 2.4 cm at one edge. Which makes the lens barrel stand proud even when not in ...

JAM29
Advantages: Very easy to use
Disadvantages: You will have to mess around with indoor shots when using zoom

A word of warning, I would make sure you get at least 1GB of memory because you will be inspired to take hundreds of photos.
I loved this camera so much I upgraded to the Olympus X-825 and ...

Nikon Coolpix L5, Cool or uncool?
Review of Nikon Coolpix L5 by
matt_jones_1988
Advantages: 5X optical zoom and In-Camera red eye fix
Disadvantages: AA batteries, Poor sensitivity ISO 400
The Nikon L5 is a relatively new camera and at £132.76 looks like a great bargain, in some aspects it is great, but in other performace tests it has let me down.
The overall design of the L5 is great, not to big or too small, so they have got the balance just right, but unfortunately it uses 2xAA batteries and with a 2.5" screen on the back lasts for only about 50-100 shots, noty really what you want when your on holiday and wanting to snap away, ... ...is incredbibly slow and the Nikon really does lack the performance side. The quality of prints I have received from the L5 are OK, slightly grainy and some colours were not that true., which i was amazed at as the camera's specification reads so well. The Nikon L5 also has a a technolocy called face-priority AF, which basically means will automatically focus on the face as a priority and the main focal point when needed. What Great technology and ...
