Canon IXUS 70 - Quality Camera
Review of Canon Digital IXUS 70 by matthews1263

Advantages: Great picture quality, 3x Zoom Lens, Large screen, Long battery life and easy to use.
Disadvantages: Price

This camera is sleek and stylish. It delivers superb picture quality and has a large display screen to view pictures. It also has a long battery life so does not need to be charged often. This camera is small enough to fit in your pocket but not flimsy. This camera is also easy to use to take pictures and view them with the option to also use different picture effects (such as colour accent). This camera also has the ability to record short movies ... Read review

Good Quality Memories
Review of Canon PowerShot A560 by ms19

Advantages: good colour, high quality photos, good price
Disadvantages: delay in next photo

...A family friend had a Canon Powershot camera and they recommended it to me a lot, I took a few pictures on it and actually quite liked it and the picture quality. It wasn't too big and apparently an ok price too so, off I went to Amazon's website to see their best offers. I looked up their range of Canon Powershot's and I swayed between the A550 and the model up the A560. After much consideration I opted for the A560 as it was a bit more expensive ...
...a blue screen with white Canon text and it makes a little noise not too annoying or long. Another thing I really like about this camera is the photo quality, it has really good colour that is just accurate and like the eye can see, whereas some camera's I've had with a flash can make people look awfully pale and insipid. The features on the turning wheel at the top are manual, auto which I usually keep it on, portrait for face shots, landscape probably ... Read review

Fun, cheap and good quality
Review of Canon PowerShot A550 by iwanttobeadragon

Advantages: Small, portable, easy to use, good image quality
Disadvantages: Lens cover flimsy

This is one of Canon's budget range of digital cameras, one of the better ones, 7.1 mega pixels and 4x optical zoom all for around £150-£200 depending where you go. The photo quality is good for the price, it is a basic outfit, there arent many extra functions and its far from top of the range, but it is a nice family camera and definatley does the job. It is a really good size, chunky enough that you can always find it and it is easy to hold steady, ...
...coat pocket; it wouldn't fit in your jeans. The lcd display on the small side, but I think it does the job, any bigger and they tend to use a lot of battery and it does have the added bonus of a view finder which is always useful in dim light. The only problems I have found with the general 'construction' of the camera are firstly that if you hold the button down to take a photograph in slightly the wrong way it can activate the zoom and secondly, ... Good pictures, bad batteries
Review of Canon PowerShot A570 IS by JoMo1

Advantages: Picture quality
Disadvantages: Battery Life

I bought this camera for its reported fantastic picture quality, as well as some more detailed photographic features normally only found on SLR camera, mainly Aperture priority and Shutter Priority modes. From this standpoint, it is a wonderful camera. The camera takes excellent pictures, extremely sharp, even if the colours do mostly need a bit of editing in Photoshop for my liking. The features are excellent; Aperture and Shutter priority modes ...
...to get to grips with. Macro mode is also excellent and has created some stunning pictures for me, full of detail and clarity. My only problem with the camera is in the reliability. The lens has once stopped coming out, and although I was able to fix it, it was still not a great experience to have with it. The battery life is also horrific, especially as my camera has got older, now eating through a brand new pair of batteries in well under 30 minutes ... Read review

Light and small high quality compact camera
Review of Canon PowerShot A710 IS by dsantachiara

Advantages: Light/pocketable high quality all purpose compact digital camera. Nice software
Disadvantages: Noise already at ISO400, Now replaced by A720is (but price will drop!)

...buy a compact camera from Canon was almost obliged. I have already owned an EOS350 (Rebel XT in the US) since 2005 and I wanted to simplify as much as possible my life: the number of cables I have to bring along and the number of applications installed on my PCs. When a year ago I decided to buy a low-budget video-camera I bought the cheaper one from Canon (MV790) which used the same battery as the EOS 350. Have you ever thought how much things are ...
...say I would not buy Canon products if I would not be happy with their products. I also like Canon internet support, bundled software and post-sale assistance (Italy in my case). - Camera Selection criteria So I decided to replace my Fuji E550 (very good product) and buy a Canon compact camera. So I looked for the professional reviews of Canon cameras on some web sites. These are the features I was looking for: - Light / Small size - when possible ... Read review
