Certainly one great camera.
Review of Nikon Coolpix 4800 by absurd_luck

Advantages: Produces great pictures, comfortable to use.
Disadvantages: Lots of settings could get complicated for first time digital buyers.

This has got to be the best digital camera I've had so far. It creates beautiful pictures of times I want to remember. The camera itself is well designed and the shape is created for ease of use, which it definately achieves. You can take pictures one handed, and find your thumb fits automatically over the zoom button. This has got to be a highlight of the design. The camera does have a very slow start-up, and take quite a while to actually take ...
...cause severly blurred pictures. Having said that, it is also very capable of taking incredibly sharp pictures. The optical zoom, of 8.3 is almost unheard of on cameras of this price range. And performs beauitfully. It is definately one of the best features on this camera. The features of this camera are many. This could get confusing, but it definately aids to the quality of picture. It puts the person behind the camera in control, unlike many other ... Read review

Big Camera Big Pictures
Review of Nikon Coolpix 5700 by randomtask

Advantages: good picture quality, nice set of features, good zoom
Disadvantages: big camera, maybe too many features for what you might need?

I'm not going to post a bunch of technical specifications and random numbers which as far as the layman on camera knows mean nothing. I'll tell you about my experience with the camera and hopefully give you a good idea of what it would be like to own the camera yourself. Ok so its a camera, lets have a look at the picture quality. The specification for the camera is 5 megapixels, this is basically the resolution of the image, 5 million pixels will ...
...zoom. So, thats a lot of pixels we have there, and they produce a wonderful image! the pictures are sharp and very detailed. The camera gives you control over internal processing algorithm parameters such as contrast, saturation and sharpness. I won't bore you with too many words, lets have a list of some pros: - Relatively low ISO 100 noise (grainy appearance in shadowed areas, areas of "low signal") - Very clever 'Quick Response' shutter release ... One gooooood camera
Review of Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z20 by milc03

Advantages: Good pictures, quite easy to use, good zoom
Disadvantages: lens cover isn't good, big and bulky, labels are confusing

I got this camera a few years ago and since then it has been nothing but good. First of all it takes good photos, but it is also quite easy to use but some of the labels on it are quite confusing. Another bad thing is that the lens cover isn't very well designed and breaks quite easily and didn't really stay on much to start with. However it is easy to view and the pictures and also zoom in and it has quite a good zoom. Aswell as this it boots up ... Read review

A Light and Reliable Companion
Review of Minolta DiMAGE 7i by Librelola

Advantages: A light, easy to use, full of features and semi-professional camera
Disadvantages: Battery life and electronic viewfinder

I bought my Minolta Dimage 7i about 3 years ago, but only started getting really acquainted with it about a year and a half later. I was travelling a lot and I prefer to use film cameras when I travel and for "serious" photographic work, as I provide a couple of Photo Libraries with images, and most of them still prefer slides, although many do accept digital images of high quality and resolution. A big reason for not using it more often at first ...
...bad at all. The Minolta Dimage 7i has a lot of features, I would say too many almost, but if you like to play around, they are fun, although I do not use them much. The features which I find to be the most useful are the Aperture and shutter priority and the full manual mode (the aperture range is f2.8-f3.5/f8 and the shutter speed range is bulb at 30 sec for the slowest and 1/2000sec for the fastest). It has an exposure compensation of -2 EV to ... Read review

A great camera for the money
Review of Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z10 by AngelaC99

Advantages: Economical on batteries, good features
Disadvantages: Weight

This was the first digital camera I ever bought, and for a technophobe like me, it was easy to understand and get started with. It is extremely economical on batteries, has a lot of great functions and takes good quality pictures, although the pixelation is only 3.1, which falls below the requirements of most stock-photo sites that I contribute to. I even managed to produce a couple of award winners! Some digital cameras only have an LCD screen and ...
...I like that with the Minolta you can switch between LCD and viewfinder dependant on the lighting conditions. I like the camera's somewhat spaceage look and it is easy to grasp it firmly and take a steady shot. However, it is somewhat heavy and carrying it around on holiday eventually made my shoulder sore. It also has a basic video function, but it cannot record sound. The memory card can be read by any standard memory card reader. A great camera ... Read review
