Before buying and using this camera my impression was that Nikon's cameras are only for professionals, but Cool Pix L11 proved it wrong. Now an ordinary user can get SLR level picture quality with little skill. It is a very handy camera and easily slips into pocket of my jeans or jacket. At 8.1 megapixels this camera takes stunning photos. It has different settings like most digital cameras, and an auto-focus which can still be manually adjusted. ...can't fit a whole lot of video on the space provided - even with a 1gb memory card it only records about 11 minutes of film, so if you want to use it as a video camera, invest in a good memory card (in case you were wondering, it takes SD cards). I bought this camera as my first camera and have had it for the best part of a year and a half now. Overall i think it is a great starting camera and good value for money. Its 5 megapixel camera makes it decent for shooting pictures of friends or family whether at home or out. ...you go whether in your bag or pocket, although i would recommend getting a case for it as if it knocks about in your pocket then it can turn itself on which'll waste battery life and could well damage the telescopic lens.
