Living with the DMC-TZ2 at your side
Review of Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ2EB-K by
geneset
Advantages: Nearly everything and more in compact
Disadvantages: No optical viewfinder and manual focussing
...cheek by jowell with the Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ2 for about eight months now. It lives in a pouch on my trouser belt and never leaves my side. As an ex-freelance photographer for the British press, I always carry a camera, and this little beauty has never let me down. In fact, I can take it out of its pouch, switch it on and be ready for action in less than ten seconds.
In my press days, we used to carry three 35mm camera bodies with a wide-angle ... ...optics and build quality and Panasonic provide the electronics. A combination made in heaven? Try it and see.
There are lots and lots of settings that are possible to make and other reviews go into great detail. I will stress one particular feature that never occurred in conventional cameras but is vital here....colour balance. You need to set this for the prevailing light conditions particular the type of light source. The daylight setting is easy ...

I STILL love this camera
Review of Canon PowerShot A460 by
lizzielocky
Advantages: Super Macro function, price
Disadvantages: Battery life
...naturally - on my old Canon A40 there was no playback sound). "In Conclusion"
The only real negative is the speed with which the two AA batteries are consumed, but that's my fault for not buying rechargables. This model is smaller & lighter than earlier versions, but functions are not sacrificed. Do buy an extra memory card, otherwise your enthusiasm for taking 5 megapixel photos will be swiftly thwarted by lack of space. The x4 optical zoom is ... ...you're contemplating a career as a paparazzo, probably unnecessary most of the time. There are a few other functions and changeable settings, but I can't find the manual to remind myself of what they are! So this review comes with a caveat: It concentrates on the elements I use on a regular basis and is not exhaustive. I've also undermined what was going to be my final point: Read the manual! As far as I can remember it is well written and informative, ...

Fuji 6500FD review
Review of Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd by
tj040
Advantages: Pro settings and great pictures
Disadvantages: not able to change lenses.
I purchased this camera with my limited budget expecting nothing more than compact digital camera but I was soon supprised at what this camera offers. It has a lot of settings and functions you would only find on more expensive DSLR cameras. Although this camera is not a DSLR when your using it you would not know this. I have produced some amazing shots which have scored well on professional web sites. You can see some examples on tj040.shutterpoint.com. ...

Fujifilm FinePix F20
Review of Fujifilm FinePix F20 by
fenwick91
Advantages: Small, powerful, affordable
Disadvantages: limited zoom
This was my first digital camera, its small but with 6 megapixels, its a powerful little camera, Fantasic for shooting any kind of picture, with specific modes for shooting sporting moments or fast paced pictures, other modes include museum mode, which shuts off sound and flash. a text mode for shooting anything with writing making it clear and readable, flower mode which turns on Macro and allows precise detail to be shown.(macro can also be turned ... ...sensitive flash which decides by its self if you need it and a 2 timer settings you dont need to mess around trying to navigate through menus. This camera also comes with an anti-blur option making it ideal for a beginner photographer or anyone who may find their photos blurry. Fantasic affordable camera which i wholeheartedly reccommend for anyone of any age or any level of experience. It has a number of different settings and although it is a 6 ...

A replacement for the disposable camera?
Review of Vivitar ViviCam 5199 by
theflyingzebra
Advantages: Price / simple to use / decent photos
Disadvantages: Flash / zoom
I bought this for a reasonable £40 off eBay for the simple reason I decided it would soon pay for itself, and it has.
I don't take many photos and was a firm believer in the disposable camera several times a year for music festivals and the occasional party or "big" event. After the costs of buying 3 or 4 disposable cameras and then developing then I decided it would be worth investing in a decent but cheap camera that I wouldn't be gutted about ... ...The camera's interface is very easy to use though, and switching between shoot and view is simple so you can see if you've taken a decent shot.
The picture quality of the photos are decent and satisfactory although the results after using the zoom are far from perfect. On using the zoom for something not so far away to get it in the picture better the zoom is alright but over a greater distance it is pretty inneffective, not so good considering ...
