Point, Click, Result !
Review of HP PhotoSmart R742 by msdevilfish

Advantages: small, light, easy to use, fantastic battery life.
Disadvantages: Lens a little too close to the edge

I am in no way a professional photographer, indeed I am more a 'point, click and pray for the best' type photographer, but this camera has made my results much better than expected. I actually got this camera as a second choice after the one I wanted was out of stock but I'm very glad I did. The best way to explain how easy it is to use is to tell you that my three year old daughter can work it. It is small and light and takes both photographs and ...
...quality settings I can get around 18 pictures before the memory is full but it is easily expandable using a memory card. Another point I really like is the battery. Instead of carrying 8 spare AA batteries round with you at all times, there is just one battery which comes with its own charger...no battery costs ! I charged the battery at Christmas and it is still 3/4 full. A small flick of a switch and you can view photographs and videos already ... Read review

A good silver camera
Review of HP PhotoSmart M737 by romybuzzer

Advantages: Takes good pictures
Disadvantages: Lacks an optical viewfinder

I have just bought a HP Camera. Its the Photosmart M737 model and finished in a lovely silver colour. The casing itself is hard plastic but also very lightweight to carry. One thing you will notice thats different is that it lacks an optical viewfinder. Therefore when you are framing pictures, you will need to rely on the bright, clear and very large 2.5 inch colour screen on the rear. It does have a finger lip on the front for steadying pictures ...
...strong carry strap. It takes 2 AA type batteries which means they dont recharge internally as a lot of modern cameras do. A set of batteries seem to last around 100 average type pictures. I do like the high range optical zoom that is able to focus in on very close objects as well as distant objects. The resolution does not seem to drop off. My husband has a similar camera with identical Megapixels (8 on both cameras) yet this seems to zoom much ... Read review

Advantages: Clear bright pictures, Excellent built-in features, Good value for money, easy to use
Disadvantages: None in my view

...of bringing home the new HP PhotoSmart R927. OUTLOOK It is really amazing to know that such a cute little and compact metal body measuring about 9.6 x 5.4 x 6.2 cm and weighing 0.2kg could exhibit such HiFi features and totally amazing results. I like the metallic grey colour as well. HP Photosmart R837
Review of HP Photosmart R837 by caroline9

Advantages: Good price, easy to use, image quality fab, battery life good software fantastic!
Disadvantages: Not waterproof, shockproof, viewscreen easily smudged

...Canon IXUS - then this HP - not usually known as a 'cool' brand in any respect - comes recommended. The family user or the beginner appears to be the one who will get the most out of the HP R837 - it's simple enough for the kids (or my mother!) to operate and fun too. The battery holds the charge okay and the picture quality for 7 x 5 shots is fantastic (haven't tested the A4 size ones though). It's perhaps only a shame that HP didn't make it water ... Hard to beat this camera.
Review of HP PhotoSmart R707 by Geoffviolin

Advantages: Easy to use by anyone.
Disadvantages: Cost. Hard to get a cheap second-hand because they are in demand

I bought this R707 for use in the school where I teach. It was intended to be used to take photos of the kids during science practicals so that they (the photos) could be put up on display. I found the camera to be very easy to use. It can do lots of clever tricks but these don't get in the way of taking quick photos which can be deleted/edited easily. What surprised was the quality of images it can produce. They are extremely sharp. I print them ...
...professional standard. When I have lent out the camera to other teachers they report how easy it is to use. They don't need to read the instructions, just point and take. There seem to be no drawbacks. I have been trying to get a second-hand model for my own out-of-school use but the costs seem to be relatively high. I assume that word has spread, causing prices to rise. ... Read review
