Quality and Durability
Review of Olympus µ[MJU:] 850 SW by urbanninja

Advantages: Range of colours; durable; SD card compatibility
Disadvantages: tiny integrated memory; lense in the top left so bigger hands might compromise pictures

I first saw this product in the advert with the cute kid, trying his hardest to destroy the camera, even using the camera as a dog toy! I thought this is perfect for me as I do a lot of hiking and canoeing and I have a graveyard of digital cameras that have broken on my trips! Ok, to the actual product now, being a student with no fixed income, I initially thought the cost was a little on the highside. Then as in the past when you get a gadget that ...
...supposed to do is compromised. However with the Olympus, this compromise does not occur, durablity and quality are assured and this justifies the cost. For you people who love your bright colours this camera comes in a wide range of colours, from yellow to blue or pink. There are a few disadvantages, firstly the integrated memory is tiny, so you need to get an SD card, i'd choose the 2gb card as it means you can shoot more videos without worrying ... Read review

Olympus MJU 790 SW
Review of Olympus µ[MJU:] 790 SW by henery

Advantages: Sturdy, durable, easy to use, excellent display
Disadvantages: Slow write time to card, poor video sound, overpowering flash

Bought this as a secondary camera last week (didn't want to lug around my SLR for nights out!). Have played with it over the xmas party season and have found it to be an all round easy to use camera. It's well built and has a host of features which is great but it does have some flaws. Mainly, the write time to the memory card is quite slow (up to 4 seconds depending on conditions), the flash is overpowering at anything under 1.5 metres which makes ...
...video mode is quite poor, dipping up and down on volume levels. Good points are the way the camera handles, it's ease of use, and the durability and ruggedness of it. Generally a good camera, particularly for capturing those drunken nights. Don't have to worry about beer spillages etc. ... Read review

The best value DSLR
Review of Olympus E-510 by londondailyphoto

Advantages: IS, Senso protection, excellent kit lenses
Disadvantages: Low light performance, AF not the best

...to wonder. With the Olympus E510, you pay less and you get more. Let me run through a few of what I have found to be its best features. First, the sensor protection. No other camera in this bracket has that. Normally if you get a speck of dust on the sensor it stays there, appearing on all your pictures. That is until you risk damaging the camera cleaning it yourself or paying a fortune to have it done for you. The Olympus system has a filter keeping ...
...the Zuiko lens quality, the equal of anything out there, and you have a winning package. It is true that the low light performance of Canon & Nikon are better than the Olympus in absolute terms, but actually, that's not important. I use ISO 800 regularly with excellent results ... Read review

why should you buy the E410
Review of Olympus E-410 by jase1985

Advantages: excellent image quality, sturdy design, great all rounder
Disadvantages: flash gun is almost essential for poorer lighting conditions

...retain fabulous image quality. the olympus E410 comes highly recommended in my opinion although if u are going to buy this camera i would most certainly advise on buying a dedicated flash gun too. Since using the olympus E410 i have started to earn myself a little extra money on the side as a photographer, this camera really is that good. it's sturdy, light and reliable and for a sub £400 price tag you really cant go wrong here. Buy with confidence ... Read review

Olympus SP-560 UZ
Review of Olympus SP-560 UZ by ventjoran

Advantages: compact, light, good features, reasonably priced
Disadvantages: colours can appear dull, especially in low light conditions

...to the review of the Olympus SP-560 UZ, let me give this advice to anyone considering treating themselves this Christmas: buy a compact, as the fixed lens does not allow particles of dust to get onto the CCD, unlike with SLR, a very costly problem! So, there I went, in search of a potential replacement for my DSLR; the first camera I checked out was the: Olympus SP-560 UZ; a 'bridge' camera (just under a pro category) with a wealth of extremely performing ...
...27-486 mm standard 35 mm) allows you to give free rein to your imagination. The image stabiliser helps avoid blurry images, caused by movement when taking a picture, a common problem when using a powerful zoom. The face detection technology gives an added security when taking portraits, plus the Shadow Adjustment technology which helps you avoid those annoying dark areas in your pictures. The 2.5" LCD screen at the back is big enough to allow you ... Read review
