I've had this camera a couple of months, overall quality is much better than expected. Photos taken of still subjects can be exceptionable good, action shots let it down a bit. I opted for the FZ18 as I do alot of walking and this camera is much better suited than lugging a DSLR about. I bought this camera as a replacement for our "family" camera we have used my wife's old 35mm Cannon for taking holiday snaps and felt it was a good time to replace it with a digital. The TZ3 was smack bang in the middle it gave a good X10 zoom (if I want more I'll switch to an SLR with lenses) and though not small enough to fit in my jeans pocket it fits fine in a coat or my wife's bag.
