40d is it worth the upgrade?
Review of Canon EOS 40D by
jake169
Advantages: 3" screen, live view!!!, intergrated sensor cleaning
Disadvantages: low lcd resolution
Probably the best digital slr for the experienced user on the market. The only two things that are seperated from this camera from the 5D and 1 series cameras is a full frame sensor as well as more megapixels. The last camera made previous to this was the 30D. Lots of changes have been changed since that including a higher mega pixel count, a 3inch LCD screen, intergrated sensor cleaning, custom shooting modes and the most significant upgrade is ... ...with its new live view sensor.
With all the new technology in the camera, you would expect it to be challenging to use. However a new style menu system as well as the camera settings being constantly shown at the bottom of the view finder as well as the lcd panel, makes it a very easy camera to use. Wether your just an amateur Photographer experimenting with the basic zones or an experienced user experimenting withe the creative zones. This camera ...

Review of Olympus µ[MJU:] 850 SW by
cansley
Advantages: Great ease of use and sleek design
Disadvantages: not quite as waterproof as i would have thought
Although a decent camera I must say it is a bit shoddy. Waterproof? not all that much my three yr old managed to get water in it the first day. Though my fault i geuss. he saw me testing it and he gave it his, but all it took was water running from the facet of my tub to do it. it still works the screen just hs moisture behind it so semi waterproof would be a better description and as for its performance i like it though i do relaize i should have ...

Canon S3 IS
Review of Canon PowerShot S3 IS by
x.b3nny.x
Advantages: Digital & Optical Zoom, Easy to use, quite small.
Disadvantages: No battery meter.
I have had the Canon S3 IS for a year now. I really enjoy photography and this was my first proper camera.
I have found it very easy to use and found that the optical and digital zoom work very well together. It is also great for close ups. It has Macro and Super Macro. This allows the subject of the picture to actually be on the lens and it is still able to focus properly.
It has a screen on the back which you are able to pull out and change the ... ...a picture of yourself with friends etc as you can see the screen on the front of the camera.
You are also adjust the shitter speed. This is great for night shots as it will let in as much light as possible.
In all I think that it is an amazing camera and is great for someone who is just starting out, as it is at a very reasonable price and easy to use. ...

IXUS 55
Review of Canon Digital IXUS 55 by
ajl93
Advantages: cheap, great quality photos, quick loading time
Disadvantages: none that i have noticed - perhaps menu system slightly complex
...quality of the lens, and canon is a top make, which I have noticed from the thousands of photos which i have taken. To add to all of the above, it is absolutely outstanding value. I bought it for £160 which was worth it but now that it is down to about £120, so I would not advise any other camera. ...

You like? SAMSUNG DIGIMAX S800 DIGITAL CAMERA
Review of Samsung Digimax S800 by
CChurch
Advantages: picture quality, movie clips....
Disadvantages: eats batteries.
...description of the product, the Samsung Digimax S800 consists of an LCD screen (2.4inches) which displays pictures taken to ultra-fine standards. When I bought the product, I had the option to spend a little extra money to buy the printer with it. I am not sure if this offer was national or if it was an in store offer so there's no need to tell you how much extra I paid.
The digital camera has 8.1 Megapixels, which still to this day produces great ... ...the camera, proving that it can last for a good amount of time. It can also record movie clips (MPEG4). It has a good range of effects you can apply to the picture as you take it (Sepia, Picture Size, Picture Quality..) Like when you buy a mobile phone, you receive a USB cable to upload pictures to your laptop/computer and an easy-to-read insturction manual.
Should I criticise the camera in any way? I would have to say that it eats batteries like ...
