Great camera if you can't afford an SLR
Review of Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 by pkirmond

Advantages: Zoom! Picture quality, ease of use, size.
Disadvantages: Can't think of any

...Along came Panasonic with the FZ7 at a price I can afford and no looking back. I can't afford a digital SLR but this is the next best thing. The lens is fantastic and the stabilisation works really well. i have noticed slight purple fringing at high zoom and some noise at high ISO settings but not really apparent unless you know what it is in the first place! Picture quality is excellent. Menus are intuitive and easy to find your way around. Battery ... Read review

The P850, a SLR on a budget.
Review of Kodak EASYSHARE P850 by parkid

Advantages: Soooo many options and features.
Disadvantages: Big, not great fr a quick shot.

With a £110 discount how could I not get this beauty. It was the first and only camera I wanted when I went in the shop. The 12x zoom is sooo useful you are able to get great detailed pictures without having to use that revolting digital zoom. Close-ups are also a great thing with this camera, the auto focus and exposure are very cleaver and I am happy to leave it on auto for every picture. However, even with such a great auto feature how on earth ...
...avaliable??? It's perfect for me as you could describe it as a simple and cheep SLR camera because of how much you can adjust. I would recomend this to any photo lover, but be warned its not all that great with quick point and shoot shots. It is very big and not to pratical in that way. ... Read review

Kodak Easyshare Z740 Digital Camera
Review of Kodak EASYSHARE Z740 by triplex999

Advantages: Reasonably small and light, little shutter lag, good computer sync
Disadvantages: A little bulky sometimes, small LCD, no zoom during videos, eats batteries

Kodak Easyshare Z740 Digital Camera I purchased the Kodak Easyshare Z740 Digital Camera from Amazon for around £150 new in December 2005. It arrived as specified, with the following in the box: * The camera (always a good start) * A non-rechargable camera battery * A strap for the camera * A lens cap * A lens hood * USB and Video cables * Kodak Easyshare dock adapter * Kodak Easyshare software on CD-Rom * A quick-start guide and full ...
...the camera - a lot smaller than I had imagined. Pros These are the pros of this camera from my point of view: * Small (for it's capabilities) * Reasonably light * Not much shutter lag * Electronic Viewfinder - I found this better than a traditonal viewfinder * Basic point-and-shoot * Advanced options as well * Good synchronisation with Easyshare software Cons These are the things I feel has let the camera down: * Starts ... Waterproof?
Review of Olympus µ[MJU:] 850 SW by cansley

Advantages: Great ease of use and sleek design
Disadvantages: not quite as waterproof as i would have thought

Although a decent camera I must say it is a bit shoddy. Waterproof? not all that much my three yr old managed to get water in it the first day. Though my fault i geuss. he saw me testing it and he gave it his, but all it took was water running from the facet of my tub to do it. it still works the screen just hs moisture behind it so semi waterproof would be a better description and as for its performance i like it though i do relaize i should have ... Canon S3 IS
Review of Canon PowerShot S3 IS by x.b3nny.x

Advantages: Digital & Optical Zoom, Easy to use, quite small.
Disadvantages: No battery meter.

I have had the Canon S3 IS for a year now. I really enjoy photography and this was my first proper camera. I have found it very easy to use and found that the optical and digital zoom work very well together. It is also great for close ups. It has Macro and Super Macro. This allows the subject of the picture to actually be on the lens and it is still able to focus properly. It has a screen on the back which you are able to pull out and change the ...
...a picture of yourself with friends etc as you can see the screen on the front of the camera. You are also adjust the shitter speed. This is great for night shots as it will let in as much light as possible. In all I think that it is an amazing camera and is great for someone who is just starting out, as it is at a very reasonable price and easy to use. ... Read review
