Mavica Magic!
Review of Sony Mavica MVC FD75 by tony_the_tiger

Advantages: Built to last forever, 10x optical zoom lens
Disadvantages: Hard to see LCD display in sunlight

I bought my Mavica FD75 around 2 years ago after using, and being very impressed with, an older (FD71?) model at my workplace. By current standards the FD75 is something of a dinosaur and is quite bulky due to it using floppy discs for recording images. The maximum image size that can be saved is 640 x 480 pixels which equates to approx 0.3 megapixels. If you want to print your photos then the absolute maximum size you could hope for would be 6x4", ...
...So why did I buy the FD75? Well, the older Mavica model I'd used at work had proved to be bullet-proof over a number of years heavy useage by many users. The advantage of the FD75 over it's predecessor is the 10x zoom lens(optical, not digital zoom). Normally I use Olympus SLR cameras for my photography but I decided to enter the digital world so that I could go out and do 'research shots' without taking a heavy bag containing camera bodies, different ... Very good for internet and when loads of people use the camera
Review of Sony Mavica MVC FD73 by eep362

Advantages: Convinient where loads of people use it, share images on the spot, no cables with FDisks.
Disadvantages: Poor picture quality when enlarging images, heavy.

The MVC-73 is a good camera using floppy disks to store the images. You can get 40 images on one disk in standard mode (20 in fine). The effects are quite good and the zoom isn't bad either. This camera is not good if you are planning to take photo quality images. The quality leaves a lot to be desired. It is fine if you want small images like you find on the internet but as soon as you want to print on photo paper or make them a decent size the ...
...although it is easy to use and uses a very cheap storage media. This camera also allows you to make a copy of your images onto anouther disk so you can give everyone the images on the spot. This camera is convenient but very expensive considering the quality of the puictures. If you are the only person going to use the camera it really is worth the effort to plu the camera in to your PC for your holiday snaps. This camera is best suited to Schools ... Read review

Grat carmera - If you can still get one!
Review of Fujifilm FinePix F30 by minionaire

Advantages: Small, grat in low light.
Disadvantages: Not widely available any more.

This is a great compact camera, as I write in October 2008 it still has the best low light performance of any compact. Don't let the fact that it only has 6MP (low by today's standards) put you off. This truly is a great camera. Ideal for social situations when the lighting level is low. It's other modes of operation are good, especially the flash mode which takes one picture without flash and one with. This makes it easy to reject and keep the best ... Read review

This camera is a bargain goodness!
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P1 by ishralene09

Advantages: Affordable, Easy to carry, Can shoot movie clips, Zoom function
Disadvantages: Hard to upgrade memory due to new technology

This camera was brought by my father from Japan. Actually we have two of these in the house. And it really is a joy to have two, as we can shoot and shoot. This camera is actually old by now. It does have 3.3 Megapixels when it comes to details, but this camera is by now hard to use. You might want to buy a better camera. But if you want bargain, this should work as well. My father bought two of these for about I don't know, $5 each. So it's a ...
...so bad. And it also has zoom functions to boot. And one great feature of this camera is that it can shoot a 15-second movie clip. Not bad for an old camera eh? Of course, there are several flaws too. When shooting at a dark space, it will appear as if the background is well lit on the camera's LCD. But when transfered to a PC, you can see that it is not that light, and you have to fix the picture just to make it light. Another big constraint is ... Read review

Samsung s630
Review of Samsung S630 by Explorer23

Advantages: Light weight
Disadvantages: Needs batteries

A small, light weight digital camera with excellent picture quality and the added benefit of being able to record videos. Simple to use, making it effortless and useable by all, plus meaning that those special moments can be captured in an instant; so you will always have a lasting memory. The viewing screen on the reverse of the camera is of decent size, making it easy to review your photos and videos. The camera appears to be pretty sturdy, with ... Read review
