Tiny camera, huge possibilities
Review of Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500EB-K by
thebigc1690
Advantages: Wide angle shooting, many manual features and a large screen.
Disadvantages: The flash, the video capture and the price.
...only found on DSLR`s.
Panasonic have been producing the Lumix range for some time now and they are becoming a very popular point and shoot camera and just about the only one on the market that can compete with Sony`s Cybershot range. This particular Lumix is one of the very few point and shoot digital cameras that can shoot it wide angle mode and whilst it is of course nowhere near as effective as a DSLR with a wide angle lens it is a great little ... ...person in the image.
Panasonic have made Lumix versions before with this 25mm wide angle possibility but with the addition of the 5x optical zoom on this model you also have a longer reach at the telephoto end. Now again with the zoom on the camera you will not be able to re-create the types of images us pro`s get from our huge telephoto lenses but you will be able to get up close and personal with many shots without having to actually get up close ...

Sony's DSC-T300 Picture perfection !
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T300 by
Jim2003
Advantages: Stylish, trendy colours, large viewing screen, easy to navigate and use.
Disadvantages: Couldn't use SD storage cards in it, had to use Sony's Memory stick duo
I have just purchased the Sony DSC-T300 here in Australia. I paid $A470 for it over here, and have been impressed with several points about it so far. These include the elegant design - I like the fact that mine is a snazzy red colour, as I invariably mislay things by accident. The red makes it more visible to find as well as looking stylish. The 3.5 inch screen is delightful after my previous digital cameras. How could I have existed without it ... ...but then I learnt that Sony has allowed for that. You can buy an accessory screen protector, as well as a line of coloured carry cases to suit your colour preference. This is an accessory I will probably buy in due course. The other feature that I've grown to like about this hi-tech camera is the slideshow for displaying images that is incorporated into it. You can choose from a selection of different musical accompaniments to view your pictures ...

An excellent product
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T200 by
sgarlick
Advantages: Ease of use, excellent quality
Disadvantages: Pricey
...EOS D & very early Sony cybershot I wan't sure what to purchase this time around. I wanted something small that could work miracles & I have certainly found it! I have never been so impressed before by a camera! The picture quality is fantastic & I particularly love the smile detector although with my 1 year old I do have to wait a while. Whilst my previous sony seemed to run out of life very quickly the battery lasts for well over 100 photos. The ...

G9 Amateur Review
Review of Canon PowerShot G9 by
H123UK
Advantages: Macro mode is 1cm literally, good auto modes, 3" LCD, good battery life.
Disadvantages: Bulky, LCD screen protectors come off...
...use and understand.
The Canon interface on the camera is simple, and is not over done with options and accessory elements. The 3.0" LCD allows users to see clearly the pictures that they are taking, and is the best option for taking photos on the G9. Using the viewfinder is a pain because the lens gets in its way when zoomed out 3x or more.
One downside to this camera is the lack on on board memory - there is NONE. However, go to picstop.co.uk ... ...Auto modes with the flash off are excellent, make use of the scene settings.
Finally, the battery life is ok for this, and only buy genuine Canon batteries, preferably not off ebay (ive been sold a counterfeit one last week!). About 400 shots.
Hope this helps a bit. ...
