Advantages: You can probably pick these up cheap second hand these days

Advantages: Easy of use, reliability, strength, and picture transfer.
Disadvantages: Battery life can be a bit short and may suffer from residual charge memory which degrades battery life and necessitates complete discharge before the batteries can be fully re-charged
