Sony Alpha DSLR 350
Review of Sony a (alpha) DSLR-A350K by
dpw22
Advantages: Live View, Tiltable LCD Screen, 14.2 megapixel
Disadvantages: No Sony Memory Stick slot
The Sony Alpha 350 digital SLR camera is a fantastic addition to the Sony Alpha range. The introduction of a LIve View system and tiltable LCD screen make it a really good camera for enthusiasts that are making the leap from digital compact or bridge cameras. Before buying the Alpha 350 I used a Sony DSC F-717 and found shooting with the 350s automatic mode to be a doddle but it has plenty of features to keep the more experienced photographer happy.
... ...I had upgraded from another Sony camera I would have liked it to take Sony Memory sticks as well as Compact Flash cards but a converter is available for Memory Stick Pro. This means that my existing full size memory sticks cannot be used but the new fast Compact Flash cards certainly perform very good.
The 14.2 megapixel resolution produces some very detailed shots and I have had JPEG pictures blown up to 18x12 inch poster size without any noticeable ...

Great Product
Review of Nikon D80 by
AlastairI
Advantages: capabilities, megapixels, strength, image, price
Disadvantages: accessories can be expensive
I own a Nikon D70 and the D80 is the direct successor to this. Featuring many of the same functionality yet with a higher amount of megapixels and the always brilliant quality.
The D80 is a fantastic camera and well worth the cost for the capabilities and excellent image quality this camera provides. Nikon batteries last for ages and the lenses are reknowned as being some of the best in the world. If you are looking for a mid range Digital SLR for ...

Canon 400D
Review of Canon EOS 400D by
JamesRad
Advantages: Picture Quality, 9AF focussing, expandability, easy to use
Disadvantages: not so good kit lense
Buying this in the Summer of 2008, just before they upgraded it to the 1000D has been the best buy ive ever made. Its a shame about not getting the 1000D but the only advantage would be the live view that i would not use. As a photography, I new a little about aperture and shutter speeds, and this camera has allowed me to learn a great deal. The images, are warm and clear, and the possibilities are endless. The 9 point AF focussing is key, which ...

Take professional pictures easily
Review of Canon EOS 1000D by
jonahea
Advantages: Great price, lots of control!
Disadvantages: ---
Cannon's new digital SLR camera is so simple- a chimp could us it!
This is due to the EOS 1000D uses tha same digital image processor as Cannon's top of the range units worth up to 6 times more the £579.99 RRP of the entry level snaper with 18-55mm lens... But you can actually find it online for £394 @ www.warehouseexpress.com :D
The cutting edge DIGIC III processor allows fast operation, accurate colour reprodction, fast start up times, and low ... ...a 10.1 megapixel sensor, and a 7-point wide are auto focus system to ensure sharpness through out the picture. And the central focus point works in low light. For action shots, it takes up to three frames per second-CONTINUOSLY thats a massive 514 shots on a 2 Gb SD card!!!
My favourite bit though is the self clean lens! It has an in-built dust prevention system lol how cool!
Theres also a 2.5-inch LCD screen to compose and review your pictures.

D40x
Review of Nikon D40x by
xtr.eme
Advantages: Excellent image quality and build
Disadvantages: Average value for money, limited choice of lenses
...motor, the camera only takes Nikon AF-S lenses, which have a motor built in. The standard lens is an excellent starting point, but if you want to expand your collection a sensible choice would be the Nikon AF-S 55-200 VR lens, which will allow you to zoom in more on your subject.
The 10MP sensor coupled with a high quality lens ensures great photo quality. The camera offers 10 modes. A beginner should start with the Auto mode, where the camera decides ... ...are several creative modes, which largely change how the image is processed. Then come the manual modes, which offer enthusiasts more control.
The D40x is an excellent option for first time DSLR buyers who want a camera that will grow as they grow as photographers. I would highly reccomend it, but if you cannot afford it would also reccomend the D40, a similar camera. ...
