This girl's off film and onto digital

Advantages: Point and shoot ability combined with high technology
Disadvantages: Will I ever use all the settings?

Although not a serious photographer, buying a digital camera seemed to be right. I'd never taken to camcorders, and felt that my old 35mm camera needed replacing with something more up to date, and with enough features I wouldn't want / need to change ...

Olympus C5050 - a real prosumer digicam

Advantages: Good Auto, total manual control, F1.8 lens, Image quality
Disadvantages: Too big for my pocket! Shutter lag.

I use my 5050 for both snapshots & professional work. It has survived 8 months of travelling in a LowePro pouch attached to my motorbike jacket as I ride around London - so it's tough. Image quality is excellent - I have made A3+ prints on an Epson 1290 ...

All the 50's

Advantages: multifeatures, suit amatuer and semi pro. selection memory cards, AA batteries, underwater casing available, good macro
Disadvantages: zoom longer, focal length limited to f8, ASA only 64-400

I have used this camera in a variety of situations and it has performed very well inmost of them. I mostly use the manual setting but the automatic work well. You can do a lot of thing that a film camera does but not every thing eg pushing and pulling ...
