More than just point-and-click
Review of Canon PowerShot A530 by miocene

Advantages: Takes better pics and more functions than most cheap compacts
Disadvantages: slightly larger in size than some

This is an excellent little camera for amateur photographers who want a little more than just point-and-click. It has a number of great functions that you might expect with much more expensive SLR cameras that are accessed with a wheel on the top including fully manual settings (ISO, White balance, flash output, metering etc). Although not as compact as the IXUS variety it does offer many more functionsk, produces better pictures and has a larger ...
...takes very acceptable movies (ideal for youtube etc). It accepts standard SD or MMC memory cards and it would be worth purchasing a larger one as I tend to use it on max quality and resolution. It is also excellent with the 2 AA batteries it takes making them last ages. ... Read review

Good...but not in Africa
Review of Canon PowerShot A460 by tunnag

Advantages: Clear photos
Disadvantages: Not dust-proof

I owned this camera for roughly 6 months and bought it due to the reviews saying that it was pretty much indestructable and i was off to africa for a month. At first i found this a great camera. It has a fairly large screen and easy to use buttons. The picture was very clear and excelent for anyone wanting a sharp picture without the expensive price tag. Although it worked fine in Scotland , a week into my trip the camera stopped workin due to a ... Read review

Kodak C330
Review of Kodak EASYSHARE C330 by mattwilko92

Advantages: Good quality, easy to use
Disadvantages: Not rechargable

...You can also buy a kodak printer dock, which is small, and your kodak camera sits on the top of it and you get the option to print which photos you want on the 1.5" LCD display on the back of the camera. The camera is unfortantly not rechargeable and takes 2 X AA batteries which is a pain, my advice buy some rechargable batterys which comes with an in-wall charger (Energizer do one for around £15) which is much better and has helped me a lot. When ...
...good, so i was impressed by the 4 megapixel camera. I do reccommend all kodak cameras and there accessiors, this camera is dated now and there is much better ones for a cheaper price, however this is my experience with Kodak and this product. Thank you for reading ... Read review

The Ideal Camera
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P73 by ourplace85

Advantages: Intuitive to use, high quality, feature packed
Disadvantages: None

I got this camera about two years ago and have never had any bother with it. It is really easy and intuitive to use, but at the same time there are enough settings to experiment with. The macro lens on it is great for close ups of small object, especially flower petals etc. Picture quaity is excellent, as is the vide recording facility. Overall, I feel this is the ideal camera - it is simple enough to use as a point and click snapshot camera, but ... Read review

Fab little camera.
Review of Vivitar ViviCam 5388 by elttiks

Advantages: None found
Disadvantages: None found

...while, and had decided that Vivitar was going to be the brand for me. I found this one on Bid Tv at a bargain price of £45. It is absolutly brilliant. It dors every thing I wanted it to do, as is very easy to use. It's not a point and shoot, but is easy to learn to use. It has a digital and optical zoom, the digital zoom can be disabled. I have done so as digital zooms tend to spoil the pictures. Lovely 2.4 inch TFT screen, which can be turned ...
...quality and is not spoilt by sun light. No view finder, but I haven't as yet had any problems. Battery life is good. I have taken over 100 pics this weekend on just the two AA batteries needed. A 1GB card which I bought from eBay costs about £6 and will hold hundreds of pics. This camera will also take black and white pictures. Brilliant little buy! ... Read review
