Canon EOS 10D
Review of Canon EOS 10D by benjybh

Advantages: Image quality, handling, value for money
Disadvantages: Start up time

The Canon 10D is the third DSLR of the xxD line by Canon, which now contains 7 cameras. In my opinion the 10D is one of the best, for a number of reasons. The 6mp sensor allows prints to be made at A3 size or more, while reducing noise in the images. It also features a Magnesium Alloy body which feels very solid, and adds to the impression that this camera is more expensive than it actually is - it can be found very cheaply now from eBay or professional ...
...wide-angle lenses may find that they are not so wide when coupled with the 10D. To sum up, the Canon 10D is one of Canon's best DSLRs to date, with superb quality images and handling, only let down by small details such as a long startup time. A solid 9/10. ... Read review

LET’S GET DIGITAL!
Review of Canon EOS D60 by jellybean11

Advantages: image quality, ease of use, lightweight, good battery life
Disadvantages: opening battery compartment loses images, slow RAW conversion, image magnification at one level only

The Canon EOS D60 has been around for about two years now and was an improvement on an earlier model. I’ve owned it now for about a year and during that time myself and my family have had much usage and enjoyment from the camera. Having owned the camera for some time now I feel I am able to comment on all aspects of the camera and hopefully identify any disadvantages especially having a husband who works with cameras and therefore knows a lot about ...
...maximise your photographic options as Canon really are rather good at describing the exposure modes. The ‘basic zone’ modes available are as follows: • Fully automatic picture taking: this aims to leave nothing for the photographer to do but compose the shot and press the shutter button, no focussing is needed on your part at all. • Portrait Mode: this blurs the background to make the subject stand out, it can be useful for some shots but not if ... A Professional Camera
Review of Canon EOS 1D by samfroggatt

Advantages: Very good Professional Camera
Disadvantages: Currently very expensive int he UK - Cheaper in USD from the US.

...always dreamed about buying a Canon D1 because they are waterproof all over and are one of the best cameras you can get for a professional to work with. He currently works with a D30, which are sadly not waterproof, so you have to look after the camera in the rain. At the moment they are very expensive in the UK, they can range from Ł2000 + but a great point to remember is that if you surf the internet you can buy them in US$ working out to be as ... Not for the faint hearted!
Review of Canon EOS 300D by silverdigit

Advantages: Fairly easy to use with full auto mode to fall back on.
Disadvantages: Frustrating in certain situations for those wanting to use the cameras creative modes.

...in the form of the Canon 300D. Having used the film version of this camera to great effect I was really excited to get my hands on what has been reported to be the best 'prosumer' or entry level digital camera. As you would expect the build quality and ergonomics are first class, the controls are clear and easy to operate. The menu functions are well laid out and understandable even for a digital novice. The camera came with an 18 - 55mm lens that ...
...zoom, which was also part of the package at that time, is a very good piece of kit. Both lenses are capable of returning very good results. However.... there are some drawbacks. I have found it very difficult to eliminate image blur unless I have the camera set up on a tripod using a remote trigger, and as you can imagine this isn't always convenient. Yes, for those stunning sunrise/sunset shots it produces fantastic results and coming off full ... Read review

Waterproof?
Review of Olympus µ[MJU:] 850 SW by cansley

Advantages: Great ease of use and sleek design
Disadvantages: not quite as waterproof as i would have thought

Although a decent camera I must say it is a bit shoddy. Waterproof? not all that much my three yr old managed to get water in it the first day. Though my fault i geuss. he saw me testing it and he gave it his, but all it took was water running from the facet of my tub to do it. it still works the screen just hs moisture behind it so semi waterproof would be a better description and as for its performance i like it though i do relaize i should have ...
