Good for the Price.
Review of Vivitar ViviCam 5199 by usy788

Advantages: High megapixel camera, large screen, seems pretty robust.
Disadvantages: Not very well in the dark & the flash can be too powerful.

Short Review: When I brought it I was looking for at least a decent digital camera and that's what this is, decent. I brought it for about £30 (round about) inc. delivery off the internet. The picture quality itself quite good during the day time but on during the night and you can barely see anything at all. I was expecting it to do better in the dark compared to my mobile phone, also using the flash usually makes the image overbright, making ...
...use cameras in the dark then this would be only a minor negative. I think besides that, the camera itself does have some impressive features for it's price. It is capable of taking images in "5 megapixels" but more importantly has a nice big LCD screen on the back. Well anyway the image quality is great despite it not doing that well at night, and the screen on the back is of good quality & represents the actual images well. It is a pretty standard ... Doesn't qualify as a McDonalds happy meal toy
Review of Vivitar ViviCam 3720 by giggsy91

Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: EATS batteries, poor quality

I completely agree with the reviewer above! If this camera was a person I'd probably have to murder it. I did not have the problem with the flash but the camera takes about five seconds before it even realises you have pressed the shutter button and then another five to take the picture to save it. By this time the batteries have almost run out and if you want to go for a day out to take pictures, like the zoo; you will have to take about four or ...
...out cheaply as it takes three AAA batteries. Also, although it wasn't expensive, it is a 3megapixel camera which was not worth its money, any detail you wanted specifically to see is blurred or not definable. I may as well have gone to Mcdonalds and bought a happy meal toy for £60 less, it would probably have been able to take better photos! However after all this, it was very easy to use and had a reasonable amount of settings and could take different ... Read review

Waterproof?
Review of Olympus µ[MJU:] 850 SW by cansley

Advantages: Great ease of use and sleek design
Disadvantages: not quite as waterproof as i would have thought

Although a decent camera I must say it is a bit shoddy. Waterproof? not all that much my three yr old managed to get water in it the first day. Though my fault i geuss. he saw me testing it and he gave it his, but all it took was water running from the facet of my tub to do it. it still works the screen just hs moisture behind it so semi waterproof would be a better description and as for its performance i like it though i do relaize i should have ... Canon S3 IS
Review of Canon PowerShot S3 IS by x.b3nny.x

Advantages: Digital & Optical Zoom, Easy to use, quite small.
Disadvantages: No battery meter.

I have had the Canon S3 IS for a year now. I really enjoy photography and this was my first proper camera. I have found it very easy to use and found that the optical and digital zoom work very well together. It is also great for close ups. It has Macro and Super Macro. This allows the subject of the picture to actually be on the lens and it is still able to focus properly. It has a screen on the back which you are able to pull out and change the ...
...a picture of yourself with friends etc as you can see the screen on the front of the camera. You are also adjust the shitter speed. This is great for night shots as it will let in as much light as possible. In all I think that it is an amazing camera and is great for someone who is just starting out, as it is at a very reasonable price and easy to use. ... Read review

IXUS 55
Review of Canon Digital IXUS 55 by ajl93

Advantages: cheap, great quality photos, quick loading time
Disadvantages: none that i have noticed - perhaps menu system slightly complex

...quality of the lens, and canon is a top make, which I have noticed from the thousands of photos which i have taken. To add to all of the above, it is absolutely outstanding value. I bought it for £160 which was worth it but now that it is down to about £120, so I would not advise any other camera. ... Read review
