We live in a world where every electrical item is packaged so much, it takes longer to un-wrap the item, than to choose one in store. ...Looking at the website for QPS (I'd never heard of them before) I'm guessing that they are a manufacturer of high quality screens and drivers and this is a showcase for what they can do. That, in addition to building to a price, would explain the weak build quality and software design issues at least.
