Gift and memories-Sony style Advantages: Read the review Disadvantages: Price and price ...comfortable and immensely enjoyable. Sony DPF D80 is a high quality digital photo viewer albeit incapable of playing video or audio files which hardly becomes a loud disqualification. The best part is its ease of use and audacious image quality. It looks absolutely breathtaking in its glossy plastic giving it hi-tech look. The intelligent part of the gadget its design. Sony DPF D80’s display area seems wider than most because the bazel is smaller ... ...possible because even though the Sony DPF D80 has does make its total built in memory available for pictures. This is a possibility but my only contention is that a difference of 6MB in built in memory availability should hardly make any such difference, may some technological impadiments are there, applying same analogy to computers makes quite a difference in the performance in computers as far as the system disk is concerened. Sadly, no delicious tasting tea… but it does have… * 7 inch visible display * Size of entire frame is 231 x 167 x 29 * 0.392 kg in weight * 480 x 234 pixel resolution * Supports JPEG format * Various time intervals, including 5/15/30 seconds, 1/5/15/30/45 minutes and 1 hour. * Reads SD/MMC memory cards * 3 Screen size mode, including 16:9, 4:3 and 4:3 full screen * 5.0 M/pixel ... ...those precious pictures. The Typhoon comes with a free 64MB SD card, which holds a few dozen good quality images, but with a larger storage card you can add as many images as you want. Personally, I have a 2GB card inserted into mine which holds more images than I can count so there is always something different to see every time I look at the frame. Digital Memories Advantages: Looks smart, good resolution, Disadvantages: none I received this digital photofram last year as a gift at christmas. Having recently received a digital camera (and since becoming a wannabe photographer), this was a perfect gift for me! It's resolution is 480 x 234 and it's screen size is 7 inches, It is compatible with certain memory cards (SD/MMC/MS) - unfortunately not mine! - but it also is compatible with a USB, so this is great for me as I can upload photos onto my computer & put them on ... ...the screen, with a clear perspex edge around this. This looks modern and smart (and doesn't show the dust as much as the black framed varieties!). It's really easy to operate and has a slideshow option, which is great for flicking through all your pics and is different to getting out the photo albums to show all your friends your holiday pics! The screen itself shows the pictures really clearly with good definition. A brilliant way to display your digital snaps. Advantages: Crisp excellent colour. Brilliant way to show off your snaps. A great feature Disadvantages: No battery facility. ...and above £80 for this Sony frame. After looking at the different frames available I decided I would choose the Sony. It was the most stylish of them all and the picture quality was stunning. I added an extra £30 to the £50 rebate to purchase the Sony frame. Setup and Installation. When I got home I took the frame out of the well packed box. It came complete with a transformer to power the frame and also a remote control should you wish to use it. ... ...bottom of the frame the Sony logo illuminates brightly in a white light. This is offset nicely against the piano black colour of the frame and in my opinion it looks fine, if however you don’t want this to be there you can turn the logo off so you simply have your piano black frame. Now that the frame is on it’s time to add your photos! Sony DPF-D80 keeps memories fresh Advantages: Sleek, stylish, non-offensive, overall a product which I really like. Disadvantages: I cant think of any-it is a fairly expensive luxuary, but no more than others of the same standard From my point of view this digital photo frame is a really good purchase. I was initially not keen on the idea of a digital photo frame, but being given it as a present I obviously had to give it a go! Initially it was fun looking back through my photos to select the ones to put on the frame. Once I decided it was easy to upload them and by selecting the option for a random setting, you just never know which photos will appear next. I can watch it ... ...the photos when they come round. I am in my mid-twenties, but I think this is a good purchase for someone of any age group. From my experience young teenagers like taking and sharing photos, myself and my brothers have all moved out now, so this frame would be a perfect Christmas present for my mum as I know she gets lonely sometimes and actually the same can be said for my Nan.
