Superb entry-level to mid-level DSLR for everyone
Advantages: High Megapixel count, Anit-shake, Autofocus Disadvantages: Not found any yet!
This was not my first DSLR but it is going to be hard to get me off this model. Superb picture quality and very easy setup for even the very basic of users. The size of the camera and weight mean that it is very easy for anyone to operate. I tried many other brands of DSLR before this one and I just couldn't hold them steady with one hand. There is also a very good and simple range of optional extras that you can buy with this camera, lens (from ... ...I also highly recommend a tripod for getting those perfectly still shots. A very high Megapixel count (14.2), anti-shake & autofocus built right into the camera, not into the lenses making it very quick to focus - especially useful when shooting sporting events or fast-moving objects. ...

Great Entry Level D-SLR
Advantages: Small (for a D-SLR), practical, easy to use, nice touches Disadvantages: slightly heavy, relatively low FPS for burst mode, doesn't operate as a usb drive on the computer
...The supplied battery is a Nikon proprietary standard, but lasts for quite a while (I didn't do any specific tests, but I got about 800 photos before needing to charge). Handling The camera is rather good for taking pictures with: it offers the usual PSAM, an Auto mode, and specialised portrait/landscape etc. modes. It was great to have a camera with which (at last) I could also take free length exposures. If you are in any of the PSAM modes there ... ...slightly tighter budget. If you have lots of money to spare though I would go for one of the more expensive Nikon D2 models, which are however quite a large investment. This is the camera to get if you want to take good photos without having to pay a fortune. ...

The Sony DSLR-A200K superb for a beginner
Advantages: Great Value for Money, Picture Quality and Overall handling Disadvantages: At high ISO some noise
As my first DSLR the Sony A200K has proved to be a great success. After shopping around I found myself returning to the Sony each time. There was a number of things that kept my interest on this including the large screen, weight, built in Steady Shot and excellent value. 6 months have now passed and I still could not be happier with the camera! It produces superb quality pictures and is straight forward to use. I feel it boasts all the features ...
