Pentax K20D

Advantages: A true SLR
Disadvantages: Will not fit in your pocket

...you have to be less frightened of using this camera in rainy, damp or dusty conditions. The built in anti-shake mechanism works very well and means you can use any of the older Pentax lenses still producing sharper images at lower shutter speeds. Overall a truly great camera. ...

Pentax K10D + 18-55 SMC - DA Lens

Advantages: Extreme weather seals, image stabalisation, dust removal, SV and MTF
Disadvantages: Not for beginners, hi ISO noise

...came the reviews of the Pentax K10D in the Magazines and their view was that it compares very closely to the Nikon D200. I looked around and found a great deal at £615.00 with kit lens and 1gig extreme III SD card and the screw on battery pack. I set the camera up and was blown away by the image quality on minimal settings. I couldn't have asked for a better camera to start off with really but it's not for total beginners as there are no scene ...

The Pentax K200d, left behind in the pixel races.

Advantages: light, ease of use, great in-camera editing, cheap, batteries are buyable everywhere,
Disadvantages: poor low light performance, expensive to run, no room for growth,

...to buy the outsider, the Pentax K200d. I admit I'm stubborn in my ways and as a unconventional slightly gothy woman I have a natural aversion to the crowds of middle aged men with their Eos's at the zoo, but after eight months I bought myself a Canon and I'm selling my Pentax and waving goodbye to them. Despite being the makers of some fantastic glass they are so behind other manufacturers in the pixel race and as my skills grow I find that I need ...
...14mp with the K20d and Pentax aren't looking likely to be doing any higher for a while yet. In my opinion this is still a fantastic camera for someone who is only wanting a basic SLR and not needing more then the 10mp this delivers. If you're looking at a long term investment then I'd do research and see if there's a more suitable range that can grow with you as lenses are an investment that will move from camera body onwards. ...

What a picture! What a photograph! . . .

Advantages: Easy-to-use. Easy-to-handle. Great results.
Disadvantages: Low resolution for prints over A4 size

The Pentax *ist DS2 is the perfect choice of digital camera that fits both mine and my husbands needs. I wanted a camera that I can just point and click yet still produces a decent photograph – it has to be pretty robust too as I am not the most careful of people!! My husband is a keen photographer who was once semi-professional He wanted something that would provide all of the control available on a fully manual camera. Our search for a digital ...
...We opted for the Pentax *ist DS2 for a number of reasons. The first being the general appearance and feel of the camera, The Pentax *ist DS2 is compact and light yet very robust. It measures just 4.9 x 3.6 x 2.6 inches (without the lens) and weighs just under 18 ounces making it easily portable. It is sculpted to fit nicely into your hand with a curved front on the right with a non-slip texture enabling you to get a good steady grip when using. The ...

Good SLR.

Advantages: Many
Disadvantages: only 6 Mp

An excellent camera for Pentax users moving from film to digital. This is a well built camera - perhaps a little lighter than one would expect if used to a Pentax MX, say, but comfortable and easy to use. The autofocus is fast and reliable and the viewfinder indications are easy to understand. One advantage for those with older Pentax gear is that many of the lenses produced for the more recent 35mm range also fit, and are fully functional, with ...
...external flash and works with Pentax flash models previously produced for the analogue market. This camera produces good, sharp and clear images and is delightful to use. The only gripe I have with it is that it only has a 6 megapixel chip. 6Mp actually produces excellent pictures and, if you consider the maths, is 75% as good as a 12 Mp chip (or thereabouts!). However, if you want to submit your pictures for publication, you will need to save ...
