Never Miss your Favourite Programs Again!
Advantages: Reliable, Twin Tuners, Lots of functions, Good remote Disadvantages: Can crash, editing function a bit basic, Transferring programmes to PC doesn't work very well
...I decided to get the Humax 9200TB Freeview PVR (Personal Video Recorder). This is sort of the Freeview equivalent of a Sky+ box, letting you record programmes to a HDD (Hard Disk Drive), like you would find in a computer so there's no more need for video cassettes or even DVD-Rs. Mine has 160GB of hard drive space which gives me 100 hours of video with this device. There are other Freeview PVRs with larger capacities but I thought that this was sufficient ... ...When watching a programme, the Humax actually records, as it goes along, which enables me to pause and even rewind live TV. I find this invaluable as it means I can always rewind back to TV or film moments that I've missed from not paying attention or if I need to pop to the loo. The remote feels very robust and I really like the quality of it. Nothing like the cheap, low quality ones that come with cheap DVD players and it has all the buttons needed ...

Advantages: It does all that you could ever want with more thrown in just for fun Disadvantages: Battery life can seem short
It does all that you could ever want with more thrown in just for fun. What do you want from your multi media player? Well whatever it is this one does it. Easy to use, loads of optional extras, very good sized screen, built in speaker and excellent storage capacity. From your PC you can treat it as an external hard drive, store and view all of your photos, homemade video clips, mp3 tracks. Put your favourite films tv, shows and videos on it to watch ... ...on to listen to instead of using an additional mp3 player. You can plug it into your TV and record straight to it. You can buy a very good quality helmet camera to record straight to the device which is such good quality i use it when out mountain biking. If you want you can store all your files on it to transfer between computers the possibilties are endless. ...

A shot in the dark... NOT
Advantages: Very compact; takes decent stills and video Disadvantages: Useless flash; initially awkward to operate
...Nikon digital SLR and a Sanyo Xacti. Now, I used to have an old 35m Canon SLR that I loved but my daughter "borrowed" that when she went to university to study for a degree in Photographic Art and I never saw it again. I was very tempted to get the Nikon but these days most of my photography is done on holidays and for that you definitely need something compact, so I went for the Sanyo instead.
The Sanyo Xacti range of cameras are advertised as ... ...a firmware upgrade from the Sanyo website to enable it to support the larger cards, up to 8gig in capacity. I haven't done that yet as I struggle to fill the 2gig card I bought for it. The camera doesn't come with a memory card and there is no built-in memory so, until you've bought one you can't use it.
The camera is powered by a Sanyo DB-L20 Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) battery that must be fully charged first time before use. The manual says that a battery ...
