I would choose SLR over Digital photography any day. Why take the easy way out? I love SLR photography and I love the process of enlarging and developing, test strips, contact sheets, the smell of the fixer, the way your eyes really hurt when you go out into the sunshine after being in a darkroom for 6 hours, the way you get a headache from the fumes... Don't get me wrong, I do like digital photography, and using good, simple software such as Adobe photoshop on an Apple mac is fun and produces decent quality images, but where is the process of having toiled away all day just to produce one decent full size image? - you don't get that with digital.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
Hi Laura I just read your comment and I can see your point. The ciao cafe is more suited to fun ops and the rating is always much harder for paid or technical ops. Don't get disheartened and as this was just for fun you can always re-write it at any time to include the info required by the members. If unsure how to edit or need any help just let me know. It would be nice to get rid of all the FH ratings. You could also ask ciao to delete the op as well if that is your choice. Fionaxx

aagh I was in a silly mood and just decided to have some fun. Have only just joined and didn't realise that I would be criticised for writing a stupid little opinion. I wasn't trying to be informative - I know that's the whole point, but the opinion is short as it gives the essence of how I feel about the atmosphere of the darkrooms and the smells, tastes.. I digress. Anyway, all I'm saying is that I'm an art student - I'm allowed to be dippy and not 'structured' or fitting in to a set way of doing things. I was conveying a passion, not writing a handbook.

Sorry, but this is too vague. Some more detailed and balanced comparison would help.
