My son gave me a DigiViewv701 as a birthday present. Unfortunately I wished he had spent his money on something else.
The screen resolution is low, making the picture quality poor. In addition the display is dark with low contrast which means it is easily washed out by ambient light.
The most annoying thing is the stretching of images to fit the widescreen aspect ratio of the display. This seems pointless as many digital cameras only take 4:3 aspect ratio pictures which are not widescreen. If the stretching could be disbled it wouldn't be so bad - but it can't.
I tried getting the v701 to display videos without success (the too brief manual suggests it should). Perhaps the video resolution was too high.
As a memory card isn't supplied with the v701, you will need to
purchase one.
The v701 looks good. It's a shame that ...

And that's it really. For all the technical details it is a fairly straightforward product. Some searching on the web has uncovered prices ranging from 170 to 44.50 GBP. I would expect these products to fall in price as there are more appearing all the time. If you like the idea of a slideshow on your mantlepiece or wherever and have got a spare 50 quid burning a hole in your back pocket then step this way. If you're not sure, then hang on and see how low the prices go.
Personally I think it's a bit gimmicky, since it's easy ...
