Advantages: Great little desk top modeler Disadvantages: needs footswitch for live work !
What on earth is this?
This is a multi effects unit, which can be used for live and recording work. It comes with a bundle of features, and is easy to use and reliable. I have owned one for 2 years..... Not even a small problem. Never failed me in anyway. JUST THE TICKET! I know that when I practice, record or take it for a bit of a rough evening or live gigging.
Note: According to www.digitech.com this is now a discontinued product, and so no more are being made.... glad I got mine when I did! So there is still some floating around, and they are at a really good price, a couple of years ago they were on sale for £180, I got mine for £120. Now I see them at around £80 depending on condition of the unit.

The digitech midi vocalist is a nice little piece of kit. It is used for creating vocal harmonies while singing. It can generate up to 4 extra harmonies while you sing. This was the most useful feature of the unit for me. It is a 1U rack mount unit and comes with the rack fittings, and power supply. It has a stereo output which automatically pans the harmonised voices. The microphone can be plugged in the front XLR jack or in the rear with a normal quarter inch jack. I bought the midi vocalist and a small effects unit to emulate ENYA type voices. It’s really good. I would recommend the unit to any vocalist as it “beefs up” your vocal line. The user ...
Advantages: Additional eq controls to shape your tone Disadvantages: cant argue with the price!
Im a very keen guitarist and have been for many years, more recently i have got into production and i now record quite few artists and bands, i am always coming across a band using distortion in their effects setup or needing the effect myself and because i use it so much i needed to find a unit that was capabe of producing a nice solid tone to work with!
I first heard about the digitech 'bad monkey' from a friend who used one and recommended them as being a very solid sounding distortion with nice variables so i decided to look further.
I went in to my local music store who sold them and tried one out and was surprised very quickly at how good they sounded for the price.
