Overall the Dimplex Hydronic Stove MIR40 is a very good fireplace and gets quite warm just as a radiator. It looks really nice on a dark winters night, really does look realistic. I am also personally thinking of purchasing one too or something similar maybe, not sure yet. I do recommend this to people who have a chimney fire place which they don't use or just want a useful functional feature in there living room. This cost my friend ... more
The Dimplex Hydronic Stove MIR40 is a stylish flame effect fire place. A friend had this fitted in last year and it looks really good. This fireplace is a modern freestanding electric stove with hydronic heat exchanger.
The actual fireplace should be professionally fitted, in my friends case the place he bought it from included free fitting so that was ideal. The good thing about this fireplace is that there's no need to knock out your fireplace to fit this in. This electric fire requires a 13amp socket to plug into when installing it and the heat is provided by a fan heater and hydronic heat exchanger. The maximum heat output (electric fan) high 2Kw and 2Kw hydronic heat exchanger makes a total of 4Kw overall heat output.

The design of this electric fireplace is very stylish and would look good in and room as the matt black finish gives it an excellent backdrop for when the fire effect is on. The optiflame log effect really does look realistic and cool. This fireplace is designed well and when fitted would make your room look executive.
