During one of my regular flights I was disembarking from the plane when my spectacles fell off my face and bounced down the steps cracking one of the lens and also the frame. I took out travel insurance with Diners Card because it appeared to have value for money. However I made a claim which on the face of it appeared straight forward but left me feeling that I had been cheated.
During one of my regular flights I was disembarking from the plane when my spectacles fell off my face and bounced down the steps cracking one of the lens and also the frame. They were beyond repair I therefore completed a claim form for my travel insurance company as the damage had been caused during travel. I was asked if I had any other type of insurance I answered yes I have household insurance and was asked to give the number which I supplied. The claim was met for, less excess, £149.00. We was not enough to purchase new spectacles but went some way towards the price. I was shocked and not a little stunned when I recieved a notification from my household insurance stating that my excess had been increased to £100 previously I did not have an excess I always believe in paying extra to get rid of the excess. I was further shocked when I recieved notification from Diners Card that my excess had been increased to £100.
