4Head Headache relief.....

I have always been a fairly headachey person getting one or more headaches per week. I have always had no trouble in popping a few pills to stop the headache (you could probably hear me rattle sometimes!). However one day a few months back I was at work and my headache was so bad even after taking a couple of strong Paracetamol tablets I decided to pop into the chemist next door and pick up one of these.

I was surprised that it cost a penny under £5 for such a small little tube but my head was driving me mad so I didn't worry about the money too much. I was even more shocked though once taking the tube out of the box and popping the lid from the tube how little of the product was inside the tube. It comes in a stick type form where you screw up the bottom part of the tube to release the ointment within. Even after screwing the bottom to show the full amount of the product, there was literally 1cm of the translucent type block inside. However at first I thought this was a problem but after realising that you only need a quick rub backwards and forwards of the product for it to work and this really will not affect how much you have of the product for many uses to come I was not so disappointed.

The product itself is a solid block of very smelly grease like substance. As I say you only need to go over the forehead and around the temples once or twice to make sure the application is thorough. Once on the skin the 4Head does not feel in the slightest bit greasy and you would never know it is there. Until of course a few seconds after application, when both the smell and the tingly feeling start to become apparent (this is where on my first application I realised I had put too much on as I was unable to open my eyes because the vapour was so strong). The smell of the product is a very strong menthol aroma, which I guess, comes from it being made from levomenthol and it does smell similar to Vicks vapour rub.

The next thing that hits you after the smell is the cooling affect it has on the area the product was applied. The first time I really felt no relief from using this at all just irritation to my eyes because the vapour was so strong. However, since that first time I have used it quite a bit and have found it very useful at helping with my headache. The product says it should be used for the relief of tension headaches and this is what I seem to suffer with the most along side sinus trouble. I still am unsure as to whether the 4Head actually has some pain relief properties or just focuses the feeling elsewhere. I do think that when I have applied it that I am not concentrating on the feeling of the headache so much as I am concentrating on the really cold menthol feeling of the 4Head on my skin.

Either way I do belief this product can work for the right people who have the right headache. I think even though the price seemed expensive at first that because the product lasts for so long it is a good purchase and one that because of its small size can be kept with you at all times. If you suffer with headaches then you will try everything possible to get rid of one and this is another thing that may well help.

Overall I think it is a good product that I do find slightly relaxing when I apply. A 5 star rating it what it deserves and that it shall get.
