Introduction~ I've always suffered from dry skin and have recently been told by my doctor that a rash I get on my upper arms in warm weather is actually a form of eczema. Having been under the assumption that it was just a heat rash I have never sought any medical help before, but on a recent visit to my GP for a totally unrelated matter I happened to mention the itching and dry patches and my doctor suggested to dry this emollient cream 'Diprobase' for a while to see if it helped. What is it?~ Diprobase is an emollient cream which acts by soothing and moisturising the skin similarly to ... more

I've suffered from eczema for a few years now, it's a horrible condition but it's made more bearable by my various lotions and potions that I use to treat it whenever it flares up. For anyone who doesn't already know, eczema is an inflammatory skin condition which causes the skin to itch, swell, crust, crack and so on. Diprobase cream aids in moisturising the dry skin, while also giving it a nice 'cool' sensation which is a very relieving kind of feeling and it certianly aids in calming the itchiness down by a noticeable amount. I don't usually use this when my eczema is at its worse and ... more

Here I am trying to struggle with my Eczema and the cold weather. My preference would be to stay in doors from October until the Daffodils are out.But unfortunately I have to work for a living,so Its not really an option. At the moment my skin is so dry and red, that it actually stings when I get in the bath.It has formed attractive red patchy flakey bits, inbetween my great nut cracking thighs,my toned and taught belly, and all the way down my arms. This is not doing anything for my self confidence at the moment! Its worse than having a big whitehead on the end of your nose. So at the moment I am ... more

Is there a world-wide shortage of Diprobase or is it just confined to N Ireland? Maybe it is connected to oil prices, after all it is made from liquid paraffin! My 7 year old daughter has suffered with eczema since she was 6 weeks old, her's is the type that will not go away, it is inherited from her father. Basically she suffers with extremely dry skin that flares up into horrible bright red patches that sometimes bleed or even become infected. She gets very itchy if she is too warm, ill, or a bit run down. To try and avoid her skin from breaking out in sore patches she has a daily regime of ... more

Years ago when I used to live in bedsit land, go out drinking all the time and eat a very unhelathy diet, I used to suffer fron excema. I used to find Dibrobase excellent for helping to alleviate this. Now that I am married and more settled, don`t drink as much and eat a better diet, I rarley suffer from excema and if I do it is very mild. I still like to keep some Diprobase on hand though just in case and it is also useful for dry skin.
