What is Diprobase Fluffster?

Well its basically an emollient cream but also doubles as a barrier cream. It seals the top layer of your skin to prevent it from losing any more moisture. Craeting a barrier between itself and the harsh elements. Or for instance if your clothes rub against you, such things as nylon and any other man made fibres ...

The Ingredients that make it Work..

The cream itself does not contain any active ingredients that will magically make dry skin conditions disappear. Its a mixture of Water and heavy , greasy emollients, such as Liquid Paraffin and White Soft Paraffin. These both create ... more

Is there a shortage?

Advantages: Relieves itch and dryness
Disadvantages: Greasy

...there a world-wide shortage of Diprobase or is it just confined to N Ireland? Maybe it is connected to oil prices, after all it is made from liquid paraffin! My 7 year old daughter has suffered with eczema since she was 6 weeks old, her's is the type that will not go away, it is inherited from her father. Basically she suffers with extremely dry skin that flares up into horrible bright red patches that sometimes bleed or even become infected. She ...
...get my daughter's prescription for Diprobase only to be given an alternative cream. I have been told that there is a "manufacturer's shortage". Now I don't know how true this is, if I was cynical I would think they were trying to give me cheaper alternatives, but who would think that? We usually get a large pump dispenser of Diprobase and this lasts 2-3 weeks depending on how good/bad my daughter's skin is. I will have to try and buy some off the ...

Remove my Scales and Make me Soft and Smooth.

Advantages: Hydrates skin, cheap.
Disadvantages: Can be oily.

...still like to keep some Diprobase on hand though just in case and it is also useful for dry skin. What is Diprobase? * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Dibrobase in an emollient which soothes and hydrates the skin and is indicated for dry or scaling skin. The effects of Diprobase are short lived and it needs to be applied frequently even after improvement occurs. Diprobase is useful with eczema and to a lesser extent psoriasis, though is excellent ...

The ingredients are below:- ointment liquid parafin 5%, white soft parafin 95% £1.54 50g cream cetomacrogaol 2.25%, cetostearyl alcohol 7.2%, liquid parafin 6%, white soft parafin 15%, water-miscible bases used for diprobase. As you can see, it does not contain much at all, it is essentially parafin which is oily and good to hydrate the skin. Is is unperfumed. Diprobase is made by ...

I'm not a metrosexual so this is for me. (Diprobase Cream)

Advantages: You don't come out the other side smelling of summer apples.
Disadvantages: A little goes a long way so take it easy.

DiproBase emollient cream has to be THE moisturiser. Although little known to people it is excellent value for money compared to some of the flashy advertised brands you get on TV with sports stars prancing about and in my opinion does a far better job. --- Housing, quantity and labelling --- I buy DiproBase in a large quantity and therefore go for the large 500g bottle (about 30cm in height). The bottle is made of a very simple white plastic with ...
...you are moisturising with slippery hands the last thing you want to be doing is fiddling around with a screw cap, so 5/5 for the easy application facility. The label follows a similar trend to the housing with a simple no nonsense approach with all the information presented clearly, concisely and without the need to have to search through lines and lines of useless bulk to find what you are looking for. Only two real warnings, keep out of reach of ...

Kill the itching

Advantages: soothing, cool, gentle on skin, it works!
Disadvantages: sticky, greasy in large amounts

...i was given was called Diprobase and it came in a big bottle kind of like a liquid soap bottle with a handy dispenser tube at the top. Every night before bed i would rub a small amount of this cream into the backs of my knees. I was surprised at first because unlike most of the other creams i had tried, i felt no stinging on the raw skin. Instead the cream was very gentle and rubbed in easily. One of the disadvantages is that the cream is quite ...
...uncomfortable feeling if the cream has been applied in too large a quantity! It would take a few minutes to work but i could soon feel the itchiness beginning to fade off. After using this cream i had very few sleepless nights and my skin was starting to clear up and lose its redness!! After a few weeks of using this cream every night and every time i had an urge to itch, my eczma was almost completely gone and eventually, it did disappear and ...

Diprobase was a god send for me

Advantages: works well on mild cases of skin complaints
Disadvantages: greasy and sticky when used in large amounts

...to which the doctor prescirbed diprobase to clear the condition up. He had the dreaded excema!!! I found the cream to take effect after about 2 days of using it (was using it 3 times a day) and made the skin looked hydrated and return to its normal condition in no time at all. The cream can be used on various skin complaints (unless a severe case where a steriod cream may be more usful) and has virtually no smell to it. The only downside i found ...
...look greasey for about an hour after application and was hard to massage in as its quite a thick consistency. The cream came in a 50g tube. But on the whole the cream worked wonders and my little wee baby boy was back to his normal self after around 5 days and i only have to use the cream once every two weeks now to keep the skin from flaring up again. Its also good to apply a small amount before a bath to stop the water from de-hydrating the ...
