Prior to becoming an Internet user, I spent many an hour scouring adverts for telephone numbers of possible Insurance providers who seemingly were offering fantastic deals. Once through it would transpire that these deals were not all they were made out to be. Eventually I turned to Direct Line as my motoring insurance costs were escalating to ridiculous proportions. Within minutes they had undercut their rivals by quite a considerable amount. Because of this I made enquiries about their household insurance and again was favourably impressed by what they had to offer. I check other insurers' rates frequently but have yet to find any that have matched those offered by Direct Line. I have even had my dog insured - which turned out to be a wise move as it has saved me literally hundreds of pounds.
My only complaint is that because of its success, it is sometimes difficult to get through and one is often left hanging on the phone for annoyingly long periods of time. However once connected, I have always found the operators to be courteous and extremely helpful.
Claims are settled speedily and without fuss and argument, although as with most Insurance Companies the forms are often long and unnecessarily complex to complete.

When I got my provisional driving licence, I was insured as a second driver on my car, with my dad as the main driver. Having passed my test in September, I took out my own insurance policy,and, predictably, the premium doubled. The cheapest quote I could find was with DirectLineplc.
However, this month, whilst at University, my car was stolen, and found burnt out. It has been a fight to get a settlement, and they provide no update as to the status of the claim. Each time I rang them, I was passed from pillar to post, and eventually, I asked to speak to a supervisor. Far from sorting out my claim, she was rude, unhelpful, and confused matters further.
