    I've typed this review as an overview of the Direct Line website, plus as a 'what to do if involved in an accident' and a 'what happened to us' - I hope it helps! I don't seem to have much luck with cars. My first was repeatedly vandalised until the fateful day someone pulled its poor little door off and tried to hotwire it. My second car was going fine until the day someone decided to drive into the back of it at a road junction - they said they were "looking behind me" which I would strongly advise you not to do when approaching a busy junction as you might hurt yourself.     Every year that time comes when I have to phone around to find out who wants to charge me what to re-insure my car for another 12 months. Every year I try all the top companies and all the little ones, I have had insurance with various different companies including the likes of Endsliegh, Tesco Insurance but keep coming back to one company, Direct Line. Since being with Direct Line I have had 3 different cars and with every car they come back with the cheapest insurance quote, and they allow me to pay it monthly.     Background --------------- I have been insured with Direct Line for something like 14 years now, having defected to them when I worked for a very large well known broker, as even with staff discount, Direct Line's quote was cheaper! We currently have two cars, home insurance and life insurance with direct line, and I will ensure they quote us for pet insurance very soon. I have also taken out their one trip travel insurance on a couple of occasions. In fact that little red phone finds it way into my home every couple of months or so.     One of the benefits of the internet in recent years is the emergence of comparison websites for customers looking for competitive deals for insurance, energy providers & mobile phone tariffs. In days of old getting competitive insurance quotes was a time consuming & laborious task. If you weren’t happy with a quote from an existing company you had to ring round various other companies & hope that your efforts would be rewarded, often they weren’t.     Every year I trawl through insurance web sites getting quotes for car insurance, I have even been known to phone some of them for a quote, (I know, it’s an antiquated idea but I’m an old fashioned guy at heart) but for the last five years I have always came back to the one Insurance company, Direct Line. I have two cars on the road, a small Mazda 121 and a nice Mitsubishi Carisma GDI sport, one I use for ferrying my wife and kids about and the small one for work and general run about use so I need a comprehensive cover that won’t make me cry when the premium is mentioned.
