In my opinion over the years Direct Line Insurance have become less efficient and not as competative as they used to be. Their website is slow and often when completing the online form fields do not appear at first, then when you submit the form it comes back with error messages saying that "information not completed" and a new field that was not their before now requires to be filled in.. This is most frustrating when having completed and submitted the form you have to go back and enter additional information that was not evident before and sometimes it will not allow you just to enter this new information and you have to start over and re-enter all the required data on the form. Some of the questions asked on the form have drop down selections and sometimes there is not a relevant selection to you personally and you just have to select one, which seems illogical if the premium to be charged is calculated on answers given. I must confess that some of their competitors online forms also have similar problems perhaps their websites were designed by the same designer, I don't know, but I believe that it would be beneficial for their potential customers if they sorted these online problems out.
