I have been insured by Directline now for nearly five years, every time |I renewed my insurance they offered me the chance to join there breakdown service.I all ways refused as my cars were new and were already covered through another breakdown company. I have just purchased a second hand car, insured again through Directline and this time I have taken out Directline rescue. This was offered at a discount of 30% as i am already a valid customer, if you dont call out the rescue service within the 12 month period you get an extra 10% off the next years premium. As far as I am aware, Directline are the only company to offer this discount. AS of yet i have not had to call them out, so can not tell you how reliable they are, but when I do I will let you know. I would certainly use this service again. You get a full cover service which includes (1) Road side assistance including 1 hour free labour (2) Home assistance (3) Priority assistance for lone females or women with children (4) Your car towed to the nearest garage if not able to fix at roadside (5) No mileage or call out charges (6) Hire car to return home or continue your journey OR the cost of alternative transport for your journey OR B&B accommodation while repairs are carryed out (7) Cost of single standard rail fare to collect your car (8) Free message relay service to let family, friends or colleagues know whats happening All the above services cost me just £64 but you can choose the level of cover you require. The average response time is 35 mins.

They are the best rescue company around. Great value for money & although I've only had to call them out once (whilst on holiday), their service was prompt & helpful. Excellent, reliable service!!

I think this opinion requires more information to enable the consumer to make an informed choice - what level of cover is available? How much does cover cost? Please let me know if you update the opinion and I will happily re-rate it. Regards, John

concise but helpful none the less. A few more details would be nice though.
Advantages: low tax and insurance, small, comfy, good petrol consumption, electric windows, cd player with controls on wheel Disadvantages: not a very smooth drive once you've had it for a year or so, no cigarette lighter or sun roof, everyone's got one!
