Three years have gone by since Sephiroth tried to attack the planet with Meteor and the planet is slowly going back to normal, until Deepground a group of mako enhanced Soldiers attack the villages and cities, taking people and locking them up in containers. Vincent Valentine is in Kalm when Deepground suddenly attacks, with the help of the WRO(world regenisis organization) they manage to save some of Kalm's inhabitants. It seems that the strongest members of Deepground (the Tsviets) want something that they believe Vincent has and Vincent is slowly losing control of the demon Chaos that is inside of him.
FFVII: Three years ago the planet was being sucked of her life force (mako) by a large company (Shinra). A group of terroists called AVALANCHE tried to stop them, but a new terror arose, Sephiroth. He was a general for Shinra but driven mad by the experiments the resident nutter scientist did on him (Hojo) he vowed to destroy the planet of humans and to become the planets God. Cloud Strife is a Ex-soldier who goes on a quest to stop Sephiroth, with the help of Tifa Lockhart (member of AVALANCHE) a flower girl Aeris Gainsborough and the leader of AVALANCHE Barret Wallace. As their journey continued more and more people joined their crusade.
Gameplay is a bit tricky to get used to as you have to aim with the analog stick and sometimes you might end up hitting a wall with a bullet or something else by mistake. Each level ends with EXP being tallied up and you are given the choice of either getting that much in Gil (currency) or using it to gain more status levels. The game is automatically saved between each cutscene but you can temporarily save inbetween gameplay.
Vincent can also change into the dog demon Gailian Beast by using a limit breaker.
Main Characters:
Vincent Valentine: A gunslinger who had been asleep in a coffin for thirty years until Cloud and co woke him up. He is now wandering round the planet with the power to change into four demons.
Yuffie Kisaragi: A young ninja from Wutai who helped Cloud deafeat Sephiroth, she is the head of WRO's espionage and intelligence gathering.
Reeve Tuesti: The former head of Shinra's Urban Development, he is now head of WRO. He is the creator of Cait Sith, a mechanical cat that wears a crown and a red cape.
Shelke: A ten year old girl who is a member of the Tsviets. She can dive into virtual networks and wield two EM sabres.
Azul the Cerulean: Also a member of the Tsviets.
Rosso the crimson: A member of the Tsviets who has a thirst for blood.
Although the cutscenes were long the graphics were superb and lifelike, you get to see more of the enigmatic Vincent Valentine and who he really is. The only thing I didn't like were the voice actors, Nero's voice just made me want to cover my ears and wish Square Enix had just given us Japanese dub with English subtitles.
Extras: Cutscene and trailers. Artwork. Music from the game. Extra missons. 3-D character models.
Advantages: Great fun to play and lovely to look at. Disadvantages: Hard to stop playing, very long cut scenes.
Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII was one of several new PS2 games I received for Christmas. I have been a fan of the FF, (Final Fantasy), games for a few years and have played several of the titles that have been released. Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus is a completely different take to the game series so far. It takes place three years after the events of Final Fantasy VII and a new protagonist steps forward to take on the role of hero: Vincent Valentine who was, in the original game, a secret character. The reason why this game is unique to the Final Fantasy Series is that it is the first of its kind: a third person shooter with the elements of an RPG. It doesn't ... ...fact that it follows on from one of the best Final Fantasy stories to date. Battles occur in real-time which is naturally beneficial to this style of play as, in this case, Vincent can evade enemy fire and the controls even allow him to crouch behind objects that might hinder his opponents attacks. Vincent's MP, HP and the item panel are always up on display , even when fights aren't active and Vincent can only store a small quantity of each item.

This is a direct sequel to Square's flagship title Final Fantasy VII. Fans of the original will either love it or hate it - and which depends on if you liked 'Advent Children' or not.
For those who don't know, 'Advent Children' was the animated film based on FFVII; it picks up about a year or so after the final events of the game and follows the main characters - Cloud and Tifa. Basically, if you liked 'Advent', then you'll probably like this, because ... ...the characters they love, rendered in really, really nice graphics. Lovers of the original game may be disappointed though, as this is not an RPG - it's a first-person-shooter, and as a rule, RPG fans tend to find FPS kinda boring. There is an extensive training sequence at the beginning, which lets you play as the young Vincent, still in his Shinra uniform, taking part in a Shinra training excercise. Advantages: Brilliant gameplay,graphics and music. Disadvantages: None that i could fidn wrong with it.
I a faithful fan of FF7 have recently bought a copy of this game.
I first expected it to be a crappy game seeing as i had been told that the gameplay was rubbish and all of the kind of stuff people say to put you off buying it, though when I had started playing I soon realised that this was a fresh new take on the story of the FF7 saga.
What makes this game worth while buy is:
The focus on a lesser known character from FF7
The controls unlike ... ...admit where very good for a ps2 game
The music accomponied the cutscenes well giving a fully imersive experience.
*What I mean by this is that out of all of the Rpg's I have played this game was the only one that added the elements of a shoot'em'up to an RPG, to form an amazing new addition to the FF7 saga.
All in all if you are a fan of Final Fantasy 7 or just a fan of Final Fantasy and your looking to buy a new game this would be the one i would ...
