Dirt Useless! I bought the DDCYL5 on 9/12/2007, I returned it to the shop 2 days later, dead & v.disappointed. Not easy to use because of the filters , & brushes becoming blocked in the 1st hrs of use. I bought it for a friend, I have a Henry, myself for over 8 yrs & although it hadn't broken down, I thought I'd buy something different, that appeared to have more power. Surprisingly this model doesn't come close to the cleaning power of a Henry, ... ...to Henry's 1200w & DDCYL's 340 air watts vs Henry's 240 air watts, the suction just stops intermittently due to filter problems, the turbo tool stopped turboing. The extremely noisy engine, overheated, & stopped every 2 hrs of use so I had to wait 2-3hrs to do the next 2 rooms. The only positive I can say was it looked like nice. I exchanged it for a new Henry & paid the extra £30 because its worth every penny. & no I dont work for Henry, I just like buying things that last.

Quick review of Dirt Devil DDCYLBG5
Having 2 dogs and a house full of carpets is a nightmare. And this was my saviour, I had a blanket of white fur across my sitting room and the only way to get it up was to drag my heels across the floor, this took over a hour and the results lastest even less. The first time over the carpet and this little hoover removed 95% of the hairs. I did have to stop 4 times to remove built up hair, but the results are really worth it. For anyone with pets I really recommend this product. ...

Quick review of Dirt Devil DDCYLBG5
The filters do get clogged frequently, (like all cyclone hepas) but this is because they are HEPA and keep even the tiniest dust particle locked within. Filters are washable but should be replaced monthly. Great for allergy suffers. I am always amazed at the dust this model extracts. If you have new carpets the compartment can get full quick. The attachments are sturdy and useful.
The motor is powerful at 2000 W and variable. This model is for DOMESTIC USE and should not be used for industrial or commercial use. i.e. cleaning of 2 hours! If you need that buy a HENRY.
The model is small and light and handy for townhouses or where space is an issue, unlike Vax or Dyson. ...
