...When we decided to invest in a new vacuum, we forgot a very important adage.
"You only get what you pay for".
While there are exceptions to the rule, they did not apply to the DirtDevil Vacuum Cleaner that we purchased last year.
On perusing the many makes, models and styles available at Comet, we decided to opt for a cheap replacement for our upright hoover.
The model we opted for matched our old style. An upright.
Dirtdevil make several versions of upright be we went with the Featherlite. Sheerly for the price as they were on special offer.
The Featherlite is a good description for this hoover. It is extremely lightweight, making it easy to carry up the stairs. We all know how heavy they can be and when it is full of dirt and dust, it increases further. However, it is a very noisy hoover which negates any advantage made...

Advantages: small, light and lots of accessories Disadvantages: none
...if you hate vacuuming like i do then you will probably hate vacuuming stairs even more but if you get yourself one of these hand-held mains cleaners you will be volunteering for the stairs job every time.
This lightweight little appliance is only small but it can do a big job. The motor is only 180 watts so you are not going to contribute much to global warming, but it is powerful enough to pick up anything that gets in its way .
The dust bag is easy to empty and change and there is a complete set of handy tools to go with it. Potentially this little devil can perform a vast range of tasks where a conventional vacuum cleaner wont be able to manage. I am still finding uses for it.
There is a handy gadget that comes with it so that you can fix it on the wall or behind a door but the colour and appearance is so smart that you wouldn...

Advantages: Excellant suction power Disadvantages: None
...We live in a flat and recently got a kitten who makes a lot of mess on a daily basis with her cat litter by flicking out the litter onto the carpet. It was becoming a work-up getting the vacuum cleaner out of the cupboard every day to hoover up her mess so I decided to look into a getting a hand held vacuum cleaner.
I discovered there were many hand held cleaners which you charge up on a unit which you plug into the mains but which loose suction power as you are hoovering. I was a little sceptical anyway with hand held cleaners as I had heard their suction power wasn't very stong. Eventually I came across the dirtdevilhandy zip which cost £28 and plugs straight into the mains so you don't have to worry about power loss.
I was extremally pleased with it's suction - it picked up all the litter stones from the carpet...
