Advantages: no dirty bags to fumble with Disadvantages: none so far.
...I just recently bought a large red devil. A bagless dirtdevil vacume cleaner to be precice.
It is bagless, dustless, not so much noisless.
The bagless dirtdevil is 1500 wat powerfull devil. It speeds through your carpets and leves them clean and well brushed. The dirt box is as easy to remove as lifting your kettle. It has a nifty dust box which has a pop open filter for ewasy cleanning. It comes with free set of filters and is a jazzy bright red.
The only problem I found is it needs more froquent emptying as it lifts dirt from deep down in your carpets. It supports on board tools and has a tough easy stretch hose for stairs. a slim crivice tool for all theose hard to reach places. A six filter system which means you get virtually no fine dust blowing around.
at a cheep price of £69.99 a fraction of the cost of a dyson, but with all...

Advantages: Price Disadvantages: Cord length, Motor strength, Dirt capacity
...The DirtDevil 136 is great value for money in my opinion. The vacuum comes with some optional add on nozels and is perfect for single people or a small family. The cord could be a little longer, and also the capacity in which dust is collected could be larger. This can be a bit time consuming because after ever clean you need to take the contents to a bin due to the size. The 600 watt motor seems to do the job ok. But as I mentioned before due to the small container, when it becomes full and it does pretty quickly, then the motor could be larger. If you have a carpet this could pose a problem which it does for us sometimes. If you have wood floor then you will love this little dirtdevil. The cord also retracts at the push of a button which is good....

Advantages: Self propelled, a lot of attachements, long cord Disadvantages: Shampooing is not reliable, heavy, price
...This vacuum seemed to work perfectly for the demo but after a few uses did not clean as well. If you have pets the brush gets clogged quickly. The shampooer does not work very well after the first couple times. In my opinion a dirtdevil would work just as well. The vacuum did work very well for about the first year we owned it but only compares to a dirtdevil or hoover's performance now. The replacement bags, belts, and shampoo are extremely expensive and difficult to find. The attachments seemed convenient at the time of purchase but are indeed an extreme pain in the neck. If you have stairs in your home the attachments do not reach to the top and the vacuum is too heavy to try to carry up the stairs. I own a dirtdevil as well and a dust buster to do the jobs that the Kirby cannot. Why buy three if this one is supposed to do...

if you hate vacuuming like i do then you will probably hate vacuuming stairs even more but if you get yourself one of these hand-held mains cleaners you will be volunteering for the stairs job every time.
