Advantages: Comfortable, manouvreable, good looking and family suitable Disadvantages: Uses a lot of juice
...I've never been mad about cars. For me they used to be something to get me and the kids from A to B safely.
My previous car was the Discovery 2, which was a bit like driving a tabk. The turning circle was lousy, it was hard to park and it sounded loud. So I was a bit apprehensive about the new one.
I've had my Disco 3 for just over 2 years and it is fantastic. Apart from the sleek design and all the boys stuff you can find out about from Landrover site, it is a really good family car. The Discovery 3 is comfortable - inside it is more like a people carrier than the old model. The parking sensors make parking much easier. The handling is excellent and it is a quiet ride.
It's also very capable off road. I've got 2 kids, a dog and a very tall husband we use the car to tow and launch a 6 metre boat off beaches and it performs well...

Advantages: Space, Relative Economy and Reliable Engines Disadvantages: Still pricey to tax and run compared to most cars
...I purchased my Discovery 200tdi around 16 mths ago and it never let me down. The vehicle I located was a bit unusual in that it had never towed or seen hard work and had only had 1 owner its entire life.
The service file included 20k worth or receipts for work actioned over the car's life and it is fair to say that the first owner spared no expense whatsoever. It had a better history than most of the 300tdi's sitting around and I decided to buy it.
After fitting some modern wheel arches and side mouldings the car did not look out of place against a disco 7 years younger and the paintwork positively gleamed.
It was fantastic for taking my dogs to training and collecting friends and family. The driving position is high and the build solid. You really feel that it would take a huge impact and maintain composure. The original...

Advantages: Comfortable, Lots of Space, Fun to Drive Disadvantages: Expensive
...We upgraded from an automatic Discovery 2 to the Discovery 3. It is a completely different vehicle. From the outside the obvious difference apart from the shape is the fact that the rear wheel is not at the back. This obviously makes visibility better, although with front and rear parking sensors, it is a lot easier to park than the old one. The searing arrangement with the two occasional seats is much better. You no longer have to climb in the back, you get in via the passenger doors and have proper seats with leg room to sit on. The new Discovery is lovely to drive, it is comfortable, spacious, lots of room for a family of 4 with two teenagers and a dog. The boot is huge. Great for going on holiday. We have had one or two blips with the satelitte navigation, but on the whole that has been great. Haven't been able to work...
