Advantages: None Disadvantages: Everything
I normally use Finish Quantum which are excellent. having seen Active Bursts advertised by Ainsley Harriot I decided to give them a try. BIG MISTAKE. My machine was refurbished less than a year ago so do not blame it. I loaded my machine with I tablet as stated on the package. When the wash had finished I thought that I had forgotten to turn it on. Cups still had coffee stains on the bottom and sides. The plates still had remnants of gravey, curry ......sticking to it and another still had mint sticking to it. The tablet had gone so obviously the wash cycle had been completed. So I tried again. Same result. I tried putting one tablet in the dispenser and one in the cutelry tray. NO BETTER. Tried doing a prewash and then the full wash. NO BETTER. My advice use Finish or evem ASDA's own cheap brand as they are far more superior. FAIRY, I CHALLENGE YOU TO PROVE ME WRONG. ... Read review
Advantages: Degreases, de limescales, and sanitises dishwashers improving sanitariness and performance Disadvantages: cost, and dishwasher has to be ran empty
...clean your dishes better. Enter Finish Dishwasher Cleaner. This little bottle of citrusy wonders may seem quite pricey at £3.50, but compared to the cost of replacing a dishwasher, it is peanuts. The dishwasher may get hot, but if you have allowed your filter to remain unsanitised and the grease to remain, slime builds and bacteria can still breed. Not a great picture, and the results are one that I don't mind forking the £3.50 for to avoid. At ......went away after my friend Finish got done with it! I actually use this every other month, as we only run the machine once a day max. Everytime do, the performance of my machine goes back to as new. Do I need to use it monthly as suggested? If you use your dishwasher more often, have an older machine, or live in a hard water area, I would, yes. It seems obvious by my results it cleans parts of the machine I cannot see and probably am best not trying ... Read review
Advantages: Good value for money Disadvantages: None
I use Finish powerball regularly, and I have no cause to complain. Every wash is guaranteed to be up to excellent quality. No matter what I put in the dishwasher be it cups and plates, or saucepans and pyrex dishes which have been left standing overnight, they all come out sparkling clean. I did try to use shop own dishwasher tablets but they were never up to standard of Finish. The amount of extra cheap tablets I had to use far out weighed the ... Read review
Advantages: Gleaming dishes, glasses and machine Disadvantages: None as yet
This is a review of Asda 5 in 1 Citrus dishwasher tablets. We have had our dishwasher for a few years now and have come to the conclusion that you get what you pay for where dishwasher tablets are concerned. We prefer the tablet form of detergent purely for ease of use and less mess than powder. We have tried a few budget ranges over the years but find that the tablets do not dissolve or the dishes, especially glasses are left with a film of residue ......our pennies and noticed that Asda had a 5 in 1 product which was on offer for £2.79 for a box of 30 instead of £3.30, and this was quite a bit cheaper than the Finish equivalent so we decided to give it a go. This works out at less than 10p per wash. The packaging was one of the reasons that we first noticed the box. It is a vibrant blue colour with the words "5 in 1" in bright red, and a large picture of a gleaming clean glass on the front. There ... Read review
Advantages: Convenience (if they worked!) Disadvantages: Cost, over-dosing, foaming, caused leaks!
...a discount on the Finish Powerball we decided to try them. The first one seemed OK, no better or worse than the powder. During the second wash we found the dishwasher leaking hot foamy water all over the floor. Luckily our machine is still under warranty and the three day wait for the engineer was not too difficult. As soon as the engineer arrived he enquired about which system we used, nodded and told us that the vast majority of leaks he has to ......other problems (no doubt why Finish also market expensive cleaning agents to counter the problem they have created!). I have contacted Finish and been given the run-around. They tell me that I was 'over-dosing' -- not that I had anything to do with how the dosing occured. There is NO warning on the box that this might happen, nor any advice on how to avoid it. I just want my money back but Finish seem reluctant to do this despite their product ... Read review
