This dishwasher does the job.
Nothing fancy, and it's not magic - really grimy things (like casserole dishes with baked on gunk) don't come out sparkling. It also is not great at washing things placed right at the edges, so I usually leave the last plate slot at each side empty. Having said that, it does a perfectly acceptable job of cleaning everyday dishes, and is mush better than having to wash and dry by hand! It is not an expensive machine, ... ...I have got for a relatively small outlay.
I really like the dividing cover for the cutlery rack - it does a good job of keeping the cutlery separated so it gets clean and doesn't trap food and grime. This cover also flips up, so that bulkier objects (sharp knives, peelers etc) can be put in the rack. I usually have one side up, one side down.
The filter is easy to remove and clean, but gunk does seem to build up around the door seal over time, ...

Tour of the Dishwasher
Outside
The dishwasher has a white metal door, with a white plastic control panel. On the control panel are the power button, the programme dial and 3 red lights for the water supply, a salt warning light and a rinse aid warning light. I will go into more detail about the programmes later.
Inside
The inside of the dishwasher is split into a lower deck ... ...results out of the dishwasher, Bosch recommend that you use salt and rinse aid with each wash. These items are simple to top up. The salt goes in a compartment under the lower deck. Simply unscrew the cap and pour in the salt via the provided funnel until it starts to overflow. ...the price for this particular Hotpoint does seem to range quite dramatically, I have seen it advertised a price as low as £250 and as much as £350. If you can get it for less than the £280 region than I do advise grabbing it quicker than a chocoholic grabs a mars bar, you’ll be glad you did.
